I just moved, my blog used to be @dio-saurs-archived. This account is new, but ready for a fresh start! Like or reblog if you’re willing to interact with an Indie Diego Brando and I’ll check you out. I’m open to crossovers and  fandomless Ocs, so you don’t have to be a JJBA blog.

//As you might have noticed, I’ve not been too active on this blog. I, however, have an announcement to make: I plan to revamp this blog, since I’m not too happy with the way some things developed. As soon as the new blog is finished, I will archive this one and move my activity there.
//I’m not going to drop everything, though. Most of my threads will be simply moved along with the rest. I, however, apologize for the delays this might cause.
//It took me a lot of time (and honestly some courage) to make this decision, but due to some events happening offline and online, I feel the need to have a fresh start. The relationships Diego established will be maintained unless specified otherwise, but the way I manage the blog is probably going to change.
//The blog should be ready tomorrow. Afterwards I’m going to share my URL here, follow people again and move my replies.
//Thank you for understanding and supporting during this year.
//The blog is still a bit of a WIP, but the important pages are already on. I only need to improve my theme and update my icons, but I will probably post some replies there and follow few folks. The new URL is @dio-saur Very creative, I know

“Just something I got when I was fifteen. It grew on me” she replied with a grin. Her lips turning to her glass as she clinked her squat glass against his as she leaned into it. Downing the entire glass in one go. The bitter burning taste promptly drowned by the sweet alcohol.
“To us. A greeting of new friends” she licked her upper lip of the drink before turning her glass upside down. A soft lime green lipstick ring on the lip of the glass.

~ ❂ ~ ❝To our meeting and future friendship,❞ Diego replied raising his glass. Perhaps it was a cheesy line, but he had the feeling Jolyne wouldn’t mind; she looked quite hopeful as well about that whole deal. He didn’t knew where that would go, but he didn’t mind having a drinking-buddy or something alike.

Shortly afterwards, he drank the bitter liquid in a single shoot. The taste was strong, but he liked it. He put down the glass with a satisfied sigh. ❝Ah, I think I needed something like this.❞

Image

❝You’re a unique one, Jolyne. Are you from this town? I don’t think I’ve seen you around before, but I wouldn’t mind repeating the experience.❞

~ ❂ ~ He had said nothing about the dog, but he had expected her to want Buffy around. Perhaps it wasn’t part of his plans, but Diego couldn’t bring himself to contradict her, honestly not minding the pup’s presence that much. And, as if that wasn’t enough, it was an important date: it wouldn’t hurt to be more permissive for once. As soon as Buffy didn’t try to run away or to jump on them in the wrong moment, everything would have been fine.

Once inside the hotel, the jockey felt as if he’d gone back in the past. He hadn’t seen that place since that famous night, but — probably because it was tied to some important and admittedly pleasant memories  — it felt familiar.

He smiled at Franky when she approached him. ❝Give me a moment to get the key, and save your energy for later.❞ He smirked a little. ❝It’s going to be a long day, after all. And, ah, don’t forget the camera.❞

When everything was settled, their belongings already safe in their rooms, Diego reached his lover outside.

❝Ready to go?❞

A package came in the mail. A VHS tape and a photo of the farm girl, the horse he gave her, and a boy he did not know.

~ ❂ ~ He wasn’t a particularly sentimental man, but even so, it felt nice to see how much the colt had grown. However, that wasn’t the only thing that had caught Diego’s attention: as far he remembered, Meredith liked her privacy and solitude, so the boy’s presence was enigmatic. Furrowing a brow, he could only wonder who he was.

His eyes fell on VHS tape. There should have been a old reader somewhere in a old box, and while finding him might have been a boring, the jockey was honestly curious. The way the package had been put together was a bit odd, given the fact there wasn’t even a letter. Hopefully, it was because the tape held all the answers…

When everything was finally ready, Diego inserted the tape and sat on a chair, waiting for the video to start.

Starter Call

Image
[I fear I didn’t give this blog enough attention lately. After the 8th, if everything goes as panned, I should have more free time and a better schedule, so how about a small Starter Call? I’m going to post everything after the exam, but I’m open to plot!]

“It burns on the way down and leaves a nice taste on the tongue” she replied with a small grin; her green lipstick becoming luminous under the neons. she put her legs up on the booth seat on her side before watching one of the waitresses bring over their tray of fireballs.
“Thanks” she greeted their drinks with a grin, shrugging her coat off exposing her arms, a tattoo on her left forearm came in to view, a dagger with butterfly wings.
Image
“To answer your Question Dio, I always celebrate” she smirked, taking a lighter from her pocket setting the first two drinks in front of them and lighting them.

~ ❂ ~ ❝I don’t think you could have given me a better answer,❞ he replied, slightly impressed. What a lovely attitude, it even reminded him of himself on some measure.

Image

❝Seizing everything of good the day has to offer and make it yours, do that, and you’ll always be a winner when the sun sets. Don’t you think this meeting is a great opportunity? Personally, I’d add it to the reasons to celebrate tonight.❞

With a satisfied expression, Diego watched the drink catch fire and shine for a glorious moment, then his eyes fell on the tattoo. ❝Now, isn’t that neat,❞he commented taking his glass. ❝Does it have a meaning? It fits you well, that’s for sure.❞

That is true in some ways but… He brushed his fingers through his child’s hair. For some time he did have nightmares that gave some detail I suppose…but then it could have just been a dream in the end.
Image
Moving his child off him he have a small laugh. Well perhaps one day you’ll learn on that feeling. But then…I have my doubts with that. You don’t seem to be the type to want a child. Least for a long time..
Imu once off his father’s lap moved off the chair, holding his stuffed bear along the way before looking to the two adults.
Image
“Hurry up if you’re done here then! I wanna hear more on the story talk!
Sure thing ‘boss’.Kimuri joked while moving off his seat before looking back to Diego. So do you have a ride you can follow us with or do you need a ride? He asked, almost hoping he didn’t have a ride to make things easier on him.

~ ❂ ~ More details he hadn’t asked for and that were probably a tad too personal. His instincts were telling him something was wrong, and his reason could only agree; as far as Diego was concerned, a similar off topic was definitely unprofessional and tactless, especially given the fact the child was still there. Was that Kimuri’s way to cope with the loss? If that was the truth, the blond could only imagine how many people had found themselves in the same awkward situation, unsure of what to say or do.

While the man’s attitude and straightforwardness was surely annoying, his son was another story: the British’s heart wasn’t made of stone, so he did feel somewhat sorry for him. He was unable to forget how painful losing his own mother had been, so, in a way, he could understand Imu’s torment. As the father spoke, he eyed him with sorrow. The poor thing seemed so unaware and innocent...

Image

❝As I said, it’s simply too soon. I’m still young, and there is so much waiting for me,❞ Diego repeated in a slightly annoyed tone, though his smile was still there. He didn’t like it when people made assumptions about him, and he had the feeling Kimuri’s one hid a critic. That was his own damn business.

The man’s next question managed to lighten the mood, however. The blond relaxed, realizing the other could actually offer him something of good. ❝Well, I was planning to call a taxi, but joining you would make everything easier. Thank you for the offer,❞ he explained, getting up as well.

~ ❂ ~ As usual, Franky didn’t say much, but he didn’t mind. Sometimes there was no need for words, and she had her own ways to let him know how she felt, which were definitely better than a clumsy and forced confession. The way she reciprocated, for example, didn’t fail to express her feelings and desires.

When the dog forced them to move their focus, Diego was almost annoyed; he knew the dog couldn’t help herself, but damn, if hers was an unwanted interruption! However -- mostly because Franky was taking it well, too -- he couldn’t bring himself to be angry, simply shaking his head and sighing.

While his lover helped the overgrown pup out of the car, the jockey began to take care of their luggage, depositing the few bags they’d brought on the ground. As he did this, he observed Franky and Buffy with the corner of an eye; they both looked happy, which was encouraging.

❝I doubt that will be a problem,❞ he answered, already taking hold of one of the bags.

Image

❝We can always buy some before the nightfall. It’s a bit too early to stop here, so I was thinking we could sign up, leave the bags in our room, and reach that nice spot you suggested.❞

[I hate to say this, but I fear my activity is going to be spotty for a little while. Mind you, this is not a hiatus, and a such I’ll still reply to threads and reblog memes; things will just be slower. It’s nothing big, but I’m going to have some exams this September, so studying is mandatory..]
[Thanks in advance for the for understanding and being patient, I love you all! <3]

“You seem like a man who can knock back fireballs with me” Jolyne said with a raised brow. Interest? Perhaps.
The green haired female went up to the bar, tapping the varnished wood with her painted nails. “Hit booth number eight with twelve Fireballs” with a grin she took a small wedge of money from her pocket and put one of the notes on the bartop, followed by an eager hand taking it and the bartender beginning the prep of all of the drinks
“C'mon, my booth is here” she pushed the money back in her pocket before leading her new drinking companion towards a corner booth where the lights were dimmed and the booth was lit with just a neon sign that spelled the word ‘Unlucky’

~ ❂ ~ He was really enjoying where that was going: Jolyne had some style, and she was really starting to intrigue him. Though she hadn't said much, the few words had she had spilled been enough to paint the image of a strong woman, something he could only appreciate.

❝Fireballs? I like the name, it’s promising,❞ Diego commented cheerfully, already following her to her booth. He eyed the corner with curiosity, stopping on the sign. ‘Unlucky?’ Well, hopefully that wasn’t their case; he had the impression things were going pretty well at the moment.

Image

❝Mm, I can see why you like this place; somehow, it has a nice atmosphere. It’s not the kind of local I normally visit, but I won’t deny it made a good impression. So, are you drinking to celebrate or to drown the sorrow tonight?❞

Her smile still present, Paige shook her hand and gave it a wave.

“I didn’t even notice if you were,” she answered. “I believe it. Sometimes, though, no news is good news, and quiet neighborhoods are nice to be in. In a sense, they kind of make a person feel secure.”
She seemed to have overcome that initial shyness of hers as she now faced the blond man, and with a straighter, more confident posture. He seemed pleasant enough so far, and they were sharing some positive conversation.
Maybe it would be interesting to learn a bit more about things around this neighborhood? Were there any special or unique locations? Like places to simply hide away from the world and relax? She’d get to that.
“I’m Paige,” she replied, extending her hand for a handshake. “It’s nice to meet you, too.”
She returned the smile, then adding, “It’s nice to know that someone who lives in this neighborhood is pleasant.”

~ ❂ ~  Immensely happy to see his actions hadn’t been misinterpreted, Dio accepted the woman’s hand and gave it a polite shake, not too energetic nor weak. ❝The pleasure is mutual, Paige.❞ He smiled, freeing her hand.

Image

❝Now, since you’re here, I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to walk together. These streets are quiet, maybe too much, so a bit of company never hurts. Where is that you’re going? If we’re lucky, we might have to walk in the same direction.❞

While waiting for her answer, the blond continued to walk by her side, showing no intention to move. He was relaxed, so much he didn’t pay too much attention to what surrounded him. Things were so calm it was hard to believe something could shake them; it was a nigh on boring neighborhood, after all.

Perhaps that was way he missed some vital details. There was someone else around, waiting for them at the end of the street, who, on the opposite, was studying their movements. But all Diego got was a far scent, which barely caught his attention: he didn’t give much weight to it, though, not having any reason to fear or suspect an aggression.
