being an adult is so weird

You ever have those days where you’re like ‘there is technically no one but yourself stopping you from randomly moving to a different country. or spending nearly three hundred bucks on a reproduction of a medieval tapestry. or learning the accordion’

and the other part of your brain is like ‘there’s also no one but yourself stopping you from doing the dishes. gotta do those first’

And then nothing is done.

Week 8: Transmutation - Prestidigitation

This last image took me a while to do because I scrapped my original idea after already working on it for a week. And I'm glad I did! Because I love the look of this one way more!

From the start of this art adventure, I knew I wanted to draw Volo at some point and since I ended up drawing the schools out of their planned order, I guess I saved the best for last. I absolutely adore his portrayal in Baldur's Gate 3 and having Volo in my camp is simply a delight! It's too bad he doesn't have a bigger story, but getting to hear him greet me so cheerily every time always puts a smile on my face.

There aren't a lot of transmutation options for a level 1 wizard. Fortunately he has prestidigitation! Here Volo is using that show magic to add some flare to his retelling of the attack on the Emerald Grove—that moment when the goblins showed up flying banners of the Absolute and leading a massive dragon! There were flames and blood and hordes of enemies...That's how it went down, right?
