1 am thinking abt the triassic cuddle once again and getting sad. The Thrinaxodon was in a torpor and wouldn’t have woken up before it drowned in the rain. The Broomistega was badly injured and dying. Neither of them ever actually knew each other but their last moments are curled up together and immortalized in stone Hggggm

The fossilised burrow they were found in cant be opened or it will ruin the bones so scientists can only X-ray scan it for images. They literally cannot be separated without destroying their remains they will sleep in there forever together ( <——-is so normal abt this)

I am sick to DEATH of “attractive” celebrities being cast in period dramas. The “face that knows emails” problem is so much more pervasive than people acknowledge. Even actors who haven’t had obvious plastic surgery have shaved, waxed, and polished their faces into absolute submission. Bring back actors who look 1000% suited to living in a time period before the inception of Sephora.

Look how they massacred my girls

Excellent comment and ALSO cosmetic plastic surgery should bar you from appearing in period dramas in general. I love her work, but Dakota Johnson has had a nose job and multiple other procedures, and my god is her board-approved ticket-seller face distracting in this.

Fuck this take. Actors have to eat, which means being ready for as many jobs as possible, and most jobs want that look that says “I groom myself according to modern standards.”

I’m an actor who doesn’t groom myself according to these modern standards, because I abhor them, which means No, I’m not an actor, I work in IT at a city library and I am seldom photographed.

Do I think that the new persuasion was good? I don’t even have an opinion. I didn’t watch it, and I’m not a die hard for the fifteen to twenty “literary novels” from Austen and the Brontes. I think that modern beauty standards are fun if you do them for you and that they are vile and evil if you have an obligation to do them or anybody bullies you about them. I think that actors gotta eat; most of the people who book a series like this are desperate for it to be a success because they may or may not have their next insurance commercial booked. That next commercial or pilot may never come, and every working actor lives with the terror that they’ll just not have a job after the last thing they have booked, then they’ll run out of money, and they’ll run up their credit cards, whether they have a fallback as a bartender or not, and then they’ll straight up die homeless and broke.

That’s a real anxiety that pervades the acting world, so when I hear “people of [description] should be banned from working in [genre]” all I have to say is fuck that.

Do you honestly think that Dakota Johnson is going to have to become a barback to make ends meet if Persuasion doesn’t pan out…

Okay, I have to add to this one more time. Do you think that actors and actresses with “email face” (a very polished and made-up appearance) are the ones not getting work these days? Period dramas hiring actors with period-appropriate looks would give MORE lesser-known actors work, not less. To be even more restrictive than my original post, I think period dramas should hire as many talented absolute-nobodies as they can to create their casts.

sadly tik tok has tricked me into thinking that scrolling for hours and listening to people talk is the same as having friends, and has become my brains choice for dopamine; so I’m not on here as much since this website is letters and pictures while tik tok is words… and moving pictures… in my defense there are way more black people to have parasocial relationships with on there as well 😮‍💨 forgive me 🙍🏽

I love talking about the biggest or best thing “this side of the Mississippi” because like hey buddy I can make the best peach cobbler in this half of the continent but god only knows what peach secrets they have over on the other coast. I’m not messing with that.
