The funniest shipping delay I ever experienced was back in the EARLY early 2000s. I was looking for a specific anime soundtrack. If you remember the olden days you KNOW that shit wasn't easy. I finally found a site that sold it, bought it. I knew they were overseas so I knew it might be a bit, so I was ready to be patient.

And I was!

….

Until I forgot entirely that I ever bought it.

Until like….

FIVE… YEARS LATER

When I get an e-mail from this company giving me very professionally-worded shit for giving them the "wrong address" and asking for my address while ALSO asking for a re-shipping fee.

I sent back a LESS professionally-worded e-mail reminding them it's been FIVE. YEARS. And I MOVED. And THEY are going to pay to send it to the new place.

They agreed to that.

A couple of weeks later, the CD arrived.

It was ok.

IDK if this makes the story any funnier, but I do not remember

Ugh, was having a great time mocking my recently imprisoned rival when I noticed the camera positioning makes it so that I appear behind the bars, thus framing me as trapped in a metaphorical prison of the narrative, now my whole day is ruined. Fuck.

I get it, man. The other day, I survived a shootout, only to realize that a stray bullet went through a mirror in such a way as to look from the camera's perspective like I got shot in the head through the mirror, so now I have to acknowledge that something that could be reasonably referred to as "me" really did die that day, and it's just like "jfc, gimme a BREAK"

ugh dont even get me started on how the other day i tried to sit on the throne of my conquered foe and light a cigar to celebrate my victory but the lighter wouldnt work and it had to be lighted by the vizier who used to work for my enemy but that i enlisted to work as a double agent and help me in my coup. that jerk afterwards said with a devilish smile "ill always be at your service my liege" and i just KNOW that he said that exact same thing to the previous ruler. signifying that my victory was phyrric since i am still caught in an endless cycle of violence and betrayal. that really spoiled the whole mood

Greta Garbo (Camille, Anna Karenina, Queen Christina)—Enigmatic and alluring and made me bisexual. The perfect example of the eroticism in silent films that literally transcends text. Could literally not change anything about her expression but you knew by looking at her eyes what she was thinking. She’s so gorgeous.

Audrey Hepburn (My Fair Lady, Sabrina, Roman Holiday)—Growing up, Audrey Hepburn desperately wanting to be a professional ballerina, but she was starved during WWII and couldn't pursue her dream due to the effects of malnourishment. After she was cast in Roman Holiday, she skyrocketed to fame, and appeared in classics like My Fair Lady and Breakfast at Tiffany's. She's gorgeous, and mixes humor and class in all of her performances. After the majority of her acting career came to close, she became a UNICEF ambassador.

This is round 5 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.

“She is one of the most amazing, puzzling, most provocative characters of this extraordinary age. She definitely doesn’t belong in the twentieth century. She doesn’t even belong in this world.” —Robert Sherwood

“Today, there are no actresses like her. Some have more acting ability, but Garbo had a guarded mystery about her and was enchanted to be with, to work with. The most beautiful nose and face, and you could read on it all the thoughts that came to her. Her ability to project what was within was unique.” —Charles Boyer

“Garbo still belongs to that moment in cinema when capturing the human face still plunged audiences into the deepest ecstasy, when one literally lost oneself in a human image as one would a philter, when the face represented a kind of absolute state of the flesh, which could be neither reached nor renounced…Viewed as a transition, the face of Garbo reconciles two iconographic ages, it assures the passage from awe to charm. As is well known, we are today at the other pole of this evolution: the face of Audrey Hepburn, for instance, is individualized, not only because of its peculiar thematics (woman as child, woman as kitten), but also because of her person, of an almost unique specification of the face, which has nothing of the essence left in it, but is constituted by an infinite complexity of morphological functions. As a language, Garbo’s singularity was of the order of the concept, that of Audrey Hepburn is of the order of the substance. The face of Garbo is an idea, that of Hepburn an event.” —Roland Barthes

Greta Garbo post her film career is somehow even hotter than when she's making sultry eyes at you through the screen. Just look at these.

I am ridiculously attracted to her ear. What's that about.

wrestling isnt fake actually its more real than actual sports

its honest like. it says i know youre not here to see fair play youre not here to see whos best. youre here for the drama and the pathos and yes youre here for the talent but talent can exist in a way that is not competitive and instead collaborative. it also says you are a bunch of horny freaks and you want to see blood

i think furniture legs should be carved into little animal feet again.  i think that would solve a lot of problems.

this post made me think of this amazing cursèd chair i saw at the taubman museum of art in roanoke a few weeks ago. look at it. i don’t disagree with op but also i think this particular chair would cause problems on purpose

I think this chair would solve my problems directly related to not having a chair that looks like it can attack my enemies.
