Pickman ain't that bad. He literally does to Raiders what Raiders do to everyone else, and Slab threw a fucking tantrum about it, which I think is so ironic.

I've seen a few posts and shit of people being really angry with Hazbin Hotel because it contains characters who are LGBT. This isn't your usual homophobic bs. In fact, in all fairness, these people are trying to support and defend the LGBT community. They're offended because of the number of LGBT characters that make up the shows cast and where it takes place.

They believe that simply having LGBT characters in hell implies that they're in hell because they're LGBT, and that they deserve to be in hell because they're LGBT.

Now, I'm not one to bash people for having an opinion, especially as I'm about to share my own, but I think this is entirely false and here's why.

You could look at any one of Hazbin Hotel's characters and see exactly why they're in hell and it hasn't got anything to do with who they fuck or if they fuck at all.

Vaggie is violent as fuck. She's always in attack mode and she will fuck you up the moment you cross her. And she's probably murderous too. She certainly knows how to use her weapons and she actually has the exact same weapon those archangel things use to kill demons. Not to mention, the moment anyone goes near her or Charlie, she's poised to kill. Even if they're not even trying to be threatening, like the time Nifty picked up Charlie. She will basically stab you first and ask questions later.

Angel is from a fucking mafia. He had no problem causing genocide in the pilot and he probably killed loads of people in life too.

Sir pentious is power hungry. He craves it and it's safe to assume he doesn't care how he gets it.

And Alastor. Well, Alastor's fucked. There's no other way of putting that.

The only exception to this is Charlie, who's lovely, but she's only in hell because she was born there.

I'm a part of the LGBT community. In fact, I'm one of the people whose sexuality arguably gets shat on the most. The ones that "can't make their mind up" or are "likely to be unfaithful" because we date men and women. I know how much shit we get just for being ourselves but being LGBT doesn't automatically grant someone sainthood and make them a good person. And if we get to see Hazbin Hotel's version of heaven, I'm sure we will see just as many LGBT people there as we did in hell. Putting LGBT characters in a fictional hell is not homophobic. Unless it's some propaganda shit show, where it's blatant gay people are in hell because they're gay. If not, then it's simply realistic.

Also not to mention that even if its because they are lgbt, its most likely to be seen as something thats bad about heaven/the angels. Hell maybe lucy is bi and thats why he revolted in the first place and lilith wasnt content with being adams mindless servent, thus they went down their, but in power. And have lasted so long after what must have been countless purges. Maybe alastor is right and they cant be "redeemed" but what if they can still learn and grow and improve hell. Afterall Sir Pentious is a super intelligent inventor and alastor super powerful, im sure they and other denizens of hell could make it a better place and fix overcrowding a third way

Something I love about M!iK and don't really see be often talked about is the morals of the story.

Shonen stories usually have to work under the same story restrictions of "power of friendship" and "we can accomplish anything by never giving up!", and while MIK certainly has that, I adore the way they twist it.

Yes, both tropes are present but taken to their absolute extreme. Power of friendship? Ok, here's a huge cast of characters who are all in some level Extremely Possesive of eachother. Never give up on your dreams? Alright, the cast are literal demons who feed on desire.

And the best part is that this is openly encouraged by the story. The story is saying "Yes, be selfish! Chase what or who you want without any shame! Take what you love and guard it ferociously because it's YOURS and no one is allowed to harm it."

Iruma's character growth is not connected to "how much more powerful can he get?" Or "how much better of a person can he be?". He's already powerful and he's already a deeply good kid. His growth is explicitly about how much more demonic he can be.

How much more tightly can he hold onto his loved ones and his desires.

How much more selfish.

Just how refresing is it to read a story where gluttony is a virtue and a goal?

Then I said, hey, I know fanfiction written by gay and trans dudes. But then I remembered, wait, I think I know one writer who just must be cis het based on his work.
