Something sketchy and fluffy I made earlier this year and I never posted here because I’m stupid. In which I embraced the Jack-with-glasses headcanon and Gabe has a new playlist that talks about them to share every now and then.

Gabe watched her happily eat the heart, blood dripping from the corners of her mouth. And as disgusting as it looked, Gabe could appreciate her enjoying the treat like a cat with tuna. He smiled at the scene.

Then something unexpected. Ammut poking his stomach with her snout then licking his hand. “I don’t have anymore,” he commented, but then stopped mid-sentence. Ammut had rolled over, exposing her belly. And was she purring like a cat?

Turning to Anubis, Gabe was unsure what to do. This was a demigod that could snap his spine in two if she so chose. But currently she was sprawled out on the floor begging for belly rubs. Slowly, Gabe lowered himself down onto a knee and reached out to stroke her belly. The underside of her mane was incredibly soft, shifting to a leathery skin toward her middle and rear. He watched her small tail whip back and forth and her jaws clap together, eyes rolling back in a state of bliss.

Ammut let out a the classic crocodile hiss in enjoyment. Paws kneading the sandy floor. Her tongue stuck out in comical flop to hang on her jaw.

When Gabe pet a particularly good spot, her foot pedaled, & she rolled completely onto her back, tongue upside down & thin tail sweeping to & fro. Purring loudly.

Ammut’s breathing changes after five minutes. Anubis gives an amused snort when the demoness began to snore. The belly rubs had put her straight to sleep. Placing a finger to his snout in mimicry of the gesture for silence.

“let us depart. She will be transferred to a proper room once she’s acclimated here.”

Whispering as not to wake up the old girl.

Gabe found amusement from rubbing Ammut’s belly. She seemed to love it, even rolling over so he would have better access to her sweet spot, which made her leg shake when he rubbed there. After a few more minutes Gabe noticed her purring turning into a slow even breathing with a slight snore. She fell asleep.

Standing up, he nodded at Anubis. So Ammut was to stay here with them? He figured it made sense although Gabe wasn’t sure where Anubis was going to get a steady supply of hearts to feed her. He thought that’s what the mummification ritual was for.

Quietly he followed his mentor up and out of the room. For some reason, he could feel his body smoking slightly now, thin tendrils of black smoke curling off his skin. He remembered the experiments Moira did to him and vaguely wondered if there was anything Anubis could teach him to control the smoke.

The deity pours a line of ash from a back on his hip. To prevent Ammit from following if she happened to get free. Once that is done, he beckoned Gabriel forth. Heading to a hidden chamber filled with incense, herbs, and various tools for embalming.

“Sit habib. Tis time I teach you the intricacies of control over your form.”

A clawed hand gently takes hold of the black smoke, hovering over the man’s skin whilst Anubis fingers curled and tugged.

He let go then. Forming his own black smoke which seeped out his nostrils, leaked from betwixt his jaws.

“Tis through thought, until habit makes it instinct. Envision your smoke, a winding serpent in need of direction. Close your eyes & picture it, tell me what you see.”

As obedient as a loyal hound, Gabe follows Anubis into the chamber. His nostrils get invaded with the scents of incense and exotic herbs he didn’t recognize. It was oddly calming as if another room in his own home and he takes a seat on a small woven mat. He felt the gentle clawed hand against his shoulder where a small wisp of smoke was. A slight pulling feeling, then was let go.

Gabe watched Anubis seem to almost bellow smoke through his nostrils and between his sharp teeth. It was frightening and entrancing at the same time. “Yes, Anapa. I wish to be able to control this,” he said softly, rubbing his forearm where another few wisps of dark smoke formed.

Closing his eyes, Gabe seems to fall into a trance. Through his eyelids, Anubis would see rapid eye movement as if he’s concentrating on something. After a few minutes, Gabe opens his eyes, looking up at his mentor. “It wasn’t a snake. It was a huge owl. Its wings looked like they were made of smoke. Every time it extended them, the smoke would get darker but when it folded them up the smoke would disappear.”

“Then the Owl is your guide. It has lost its way and needs your hand to give it direction. Just as a falconer both guides and listens to their avian.”

Anubis beckoned his own smoke. It formed into the shape of a Doberman. Barking madly afore Anubis lifted his hand. The smoke immediately settled down and sat, then vanished. The smoke returning to Anubis.

“You must learn to speak with your Owl. To know it’s movements and do so as one entity. Concentrate and center yourself. Let the Owl come to you.”

He sits down with Gabriel. Hind legs folding into a crossed form. Hunching forward and leaning to put his forehead against the half mortals.

“Close your eyes. Let me in.”

Gabe watched his mentor in utter amazement as a large sleek doberman appeared, barking angrily. But by a simple command, the dog quieted and sat down, then vanished into smoke which returned to Anubis’ hand. Gabe knew he needed to control his own smoke just as well or it would overtake control of him.

He lowered his head again. “Yes, Anapa. I wish to guide my owl,” he simply said before hearing his mentor sit in front of him. He felt Anubis’ jackal-like head gently press against his, connecting the two together. Gabe closed his eyes and concentrated once more. This time, he saw himself, wreathed in smoke, opening a door and his Anapa standing there on the other side, being invited in.

A dance with Death

Jack just gave a sad smiled letting his cold mask slip a little. “Did she get the presents I sent her?” He asked fully aware of just how many years it had been since he saw his daughter but he couldn’t let her or anyone see the broken down wreak he’d become since Overwatch fell. And Honestly he didn’t know if he was ready to face his daughter, but he should have thought of that before coming here.

“I guess I’m not the only one that’s been lonely but surely others must have caught your eye.” He said as he cut into his steak he had no idea how it looked but it smelled amazing and tasted amazing when he finally took a bite.

“Every gift you’ve given her is cherished. She can’t sleep without the stuffed puppy. And the Mexican blanket covers her bed,” Moira answers, taking the bottle and refilling her glass. It had been too long since she’d had decent whiskey, this was one of her rare indulgences and for once she didn’t mind letting herself become a little inebriated.

“Jack, there’s been no one else, I assure you. I’m not exactly a social butterfly that finds a new flower to settle on. I’ve had little precious time away from my lab. If anything, it’s made me long for you more. I wouldn’t mind picking up where we left off.” She settled back in her chair, letting the alcohol soak into her bloodstream. After a moment, she took a bite of her steak. “You’ve always been an excellent cook, you know that?” she commented.

Legacy (closed starter)

Moira just texted back “I understand commander I will figure out how to monitor him remotely.” Already Moira was having theories that James newfound ability was a side effect of the measures taken to keep his body from cannibalizing itself, but even if she got another subject set up Reyes time limit till she was put on light duty was almost up. “Commander studying James condition will take longer than the 3 weeks I have left.” she texted hoping this could be used to get her unlimited lab access back.

James didn’t make eye contact with Reyes as he spoke. ”Yes sir, I understand sir.” He said before adding “If I’m dismissed I’ll be in my room.” He said before walking out the door.

Anytime he saw someone in the hall he just quickly switched sides so they didn’t brush against him. It was clear to everyone that James was in a bad mood. As soon as the door slid shut James just let out a frustrated yell and grabbed the clay pot off his desk throwing it against the wall.

“Fine, I’ll pull strings so you can continue progress with James. But I need results. And you’re condition will be monitored as well. I’m not risking harm to your baby if it can be helped,” he quickly replied in text. Gabe was frustrated with the whole situation. Why Moira decided that now of all times was good to get herself knocked up was beyond him.

He turned to James, keeping his stone face. “If you need anything, contact me first. I seem to be...resistant to your...whatever it is. You’re dismissed for the day, James,” he answered. He watched James leave, then pinched the bridge of his nose and letting out a long sigh. This just wasn’t his day.

🍸 "What were you thinking?!" Hanzo squawks as he points to the empty glasses on the table. "I'm not carrying you home, again." (brxken-arrxw)

“I was thinking…I needed…a drink,” he slurred. Reaper leaned against the chair. He downed the glass he was holding, then set it down. “Another,” he asked, almost in a demanding tone. Sadly, the bottle was near empty.

The archer chuckled. “We are doing just fine, but I’m certain that our little one is impatiently hungry this morning,” Hanzo spoke with a grin, taking a seat at the table. He grunted a little, placing a hand on his swollen abdomen and giving it a gentle rub. He could almost swear that he felt something odd within in his belly, but he shrugged it off, simply taking it as a sign of hunger.

“I feel like I’ve grown overnight,” Hanzo commented, knowing that just about everything had been feeling a bit more swollen lately. However, he wasn’t about to admit that he was beginning to walk with a slight waddle. The archer’s pride wouldn’t allow it. Not right now, anyway.

Before Hanzo could even comment on his dragons, seemingly from out of nowhere, one had poked it’s head up from one of the chairs at the table. It was Kinryu. Almost in a flash, he slinked his way onto the table and snatched up a piece of Gabe’s bacon.

“Kinryu!” Hanzo called, but the dragon had already hopped away and trotted over to a waiting and hungry Kiyo, who was just a bit more rounded in the middle than before. The dragon happily munched on the piece of bacon while Hanzo breathed a small sigh, flashing his lover an apologetic, yet, embarrassed expression. “Sorry, my love..”

Gabe was already half expecting the dragons to show up, so it came to no surprise when Kinryu seemingly popped his head up and snatched up a slice of bacon that Gabe had just plated. He chuckled, watching the dragon take it over to his partner sitting in the plush chair. Gabe had noticed Kiyo’s belly had grown, the deep purple soul inside the dragon now much more obvious. “Gotta feed the little dragon too apparently,” he answered.

Gabe had noticed Hanzo shifting slightly as he sat. “Everything ok, love?” he asked as he began eating his breakfast. Hanzo was normally reserved and quiet, wasn’t known to complain. “If something’s bothering you, let me know. I want you to be comfortable as possible while we stay here.”

The archer noticed Gabe’s concern. He glanced down at himself, giving his belly one more gentle rub before he scooted closer to the table. He flashed his lover a relaxed smile. “Don’t worry, my love. I’m just fine. I think I’m just hungry, is all.”

It didn’t take long for Hanzo to start digging into to his breakfast, pausing every now and then to sip on his orange juice. Everything was delicious. It was no secret that he really enjoyed Gabe’s cooking. Sometimes, the archer would help out, but when it came to cooking, Hanzo was no expert. In fact, things would get burnt or overdone if he so much as looked at it wrong. So he simply let Gabe handle everything for safety’s sake.

He was almost finished when that strange feeling had occurred once again. Hanzo paused, his eyes blinking several times out of confusion.

There. He felt it again. He dropped his fork, his hand darting to his belly. It was an odd sensation. Almost as if something was lightly brushing up against him from within. It was something that he just couldn’t explain.

And then it suddenly dawned upon him. The archer’s eyes widened. Angela had told him that this would happen eventually, but he clearly wasn’t prepared for it. He looked at Gabe, an expression of amazement and wonder upon his face. “G-Gabriel… The baby… He’s moving… I… I can feel it!”

Gabe didn’t believe Hanzo when he stated he was fine. Gabe knew better. Years of training rookies, observing targets and overall instinct told him something was definitely not fine. He continued to watch Hanzo as they ate in peaceful silence.

Then it happened. Gabe almost jumped out of his chair even before Hanzo said anything, ready to either call the local doctor or assist the archer in any way he could. In a flash, he was at Hanzo’s side but what he was ready for was completely unexpected. “M-moving? Wait...You can feel him?” He blinked a couple times, not understanding at first. But when it sunk in a moment later, a huge smile overcame his face.

“Can I feel?” Gabe asked, suddenly very excited. He gently reached around, placing his hand on Hanzo’s belly. At first there was nothing but soon, a gentle fluttering was felt. “Holy shit, he’s kicking!” Tears broke through his eyes. “Hanzo, that’s our son in there!”

Kekipi softly chuckled as she sat down beside him and gently ruffle his hair. “I’m glad you like it,” she murmured, giving him a soft kiss on the cheek before she started to eat a little bit of what he left for her to eat. She softly hummed, she always loved cooking fajitas. It reminded her of what her adoptive father used to cook for her and her siblings.

“I’m going to go talk to Sombra soon about a mission I have to go on… Are you going to be okay during that mission..?” She asked him, frowning a little. God, she didn’t want to leave him.

“Under normal circumstances, I’d be commanding the mission but seeing how I’m benched here doing paperwork I don’t have much of a choice. Besides, who else is going to watch Halona?” Gabe asked, finishing his meal and setting the licked-clean plate aside. He was still hungry but made sure to leave plenty for Kekipi. He made a mental note to raid the kitchens for a snack later.

A small crying started sounding from the other room. “Right on cue,” Gabe said, heaving himself out of his chair to head toward the sound. Kekipi would hear his voice cooing and after a couple minutes Gabe reemerged with Halona, who’d just woken from her nap. “Got her changed. Now she’s hungry,” he said, gently rocking her. “You ready to feed her?”
