The lights come up in blue and purple hues and she knows what’s coming next. Assuming her position on the stage, she takes a breath. She can hear their applause and feel the enthusiasm. It’s electric and it courses through her like the chill of adrenaline in her veins. 

                                                         She  s m i l e s.                                                      Those are her babies. 

She sends a kiss to the crowd, a few at the front catch it and she hopes they know that she adores them and would kiss them all one at a time if she could. 

The first few notes of her song starts again and she can’t believe she’s here singing her songs to this crowd. She fixes her hair and readies herself for her next song, the crowd scream their adoration. She takes a deep breath and she sings back;

                                        “  How do I make the phone ring?                                                     Why do I even care?  ”
