You were so tired now you didn't even think about the thing you saved until you looked at it.It was...a mermaid? No, merman. He looked like a merman. You just stared, you didn't gasp or looked surprise. Though you felt surprised. Still, just stared. Not moving an inch The merman quickly swam away, hiding behind something. The sudden movement snapped you out of it, and you felt bad for making them hide."It's okay, you don't have to hide." You called out.No response."I'm sorry I scared you." You called out again, softer this time.The merman slowly swam back to you, staring at you like you did him."Um, hi." You said with an awkward smile.He waved, "Thank you." You had done what the strange man in the water told you to do, and returned to the waterside the next day. He was in the same spot as before, lingering near the docks, he gestured for you to come closer to him, you followed instruction without questioning it too much, he was your soulmate so there wasn’t a whole lot to fear.

“Okay so spill,” you started once you were in the water with Gabriel. “what are you? What kind of creature?” You asked, staring at the tentacles just below you in the dark blue water. The man huffed and you noticed the tentacles flick when he did so, seemingly showing off similar emotions.

“I’m a mer, like The Little Mermaid, except real, and ya know, I have a real tail instead of the fake mermaid ones you humans use.” He explained, he grabbed your arm and led you to some hidden rocks just away from the docks. Once he knew for sure the two of you were out of sight from other humans or mers, he used his upper-body strength to pull himself up onto one of the rocks, the eight tentacles joining him on the rock just below, the black tentacles were odd in design. Red rings littered them in random places with no real pattern, the most intriguing part of his tentacles were the fact every once in a while some of them would turn to smoke and seemingly fade away, before reforming into the solid mass they should be.

“What are they doing?” You asked as you noticed parts of the tail disappear again. He sighed and looked behind you, across the ocean. You took this time to really take in the man’s feature, the chest length hair, his dark eyes, tan skin, tan skin littered in scars, small scars and big scars alike crisscrossed his body, long ones were cut into his face, his right cheek had two scars running down them, deep and noticeable once you actually looked.

“An old friend turned me into this.” He finally spoke up, he turned his gaze to you a hardened look on his face. “She didn’t mean to, but she did, essentially turned me into a siren of sorts.” He explained, running his hand through his thick wet hair. You stared at him, slightly mortified, sure you’ve heard the stories, but to know they were real and in front of you, it was scary. Gabriel noticed the change in your expression and his face softened. “Don’t worry mi amor, I won’t do that to you.”

Nope, one of the mods literally JUST got back from vacation, and the other mod has been super busy.
