I have been practicing art lately, and I found this guy on Pinterest (Bartek Borowiec), who (to me) looks exactly like fanon redhead Sauron. I had to give him a crown and that black robe, I see Mairon wear a lot. :DD
The type of parents who argue that simply putting food on the table and keeping a roof over their kids' head is sufficient parenting are always so shocked when their children no longer want to deal with them once they've got their own place and can buy their own groceries. Like what else did you expect to happen? You told the people who had no other choice than rely on you for food and shelter that asking for any more than that is unreasonable of them, and then they don't go to you for anything once they can get those some other way. What would they go to their parents for?
They've got food at the house.

Russian History
I'm taking a class on Russian history in college right now. I swear to god, it feels like every single class is another example of why Eastern Europe hates the Russians. And it's not the Eastern Europeans starting it. It's not Poles, Lithuanians, or Ukrainians starting it. It's the Russians. How anyone is surprised that the instant they had the chance they joined an alliance like NATO is beyond me.
I hate saying it, but Putin is right that to understand the war in Ukraine, you need to know the history. He's just wrong about who the victims are. Russian history is a history of Russian aggression. The victims are Ukraine, Poland, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, and God knows how many other groups. Of course, they sought Western protection the second they got out from under Russia's thumb.
I'm sorry if this is rambling or confusing. I just needed to vent somewhere.

I came up with a new saying:
"You wouldn't bake a cat just because it jumped into the oven."
It means that just having a really, really good opportunity to do something awful is not an excuse to do it. That it isn't enough that you never go out of your way to do evil, you're also supposed to go out of your way to do the right thing, even in situations where the wrong thing to do would be extremely easy and profitable, and passively allowing it to happen would be easier than going out of your way to do better than that.
You ever have a random thought that's not intrusive, but somehow simultaneously so instinctive and so detached from your regular everyday life, that you vaguely figure it was probably just an ancestral spirit possessing you for a second?
I was baking an apple pie for fun, freehanding cardamom by vibes alone. And a thought pops into my head, must not be wasteful with them, spices are expensive. And I had to halt right there for a second. Why would I feel financial guilt about the amount of seasoning in homemade goods, when I spend money on far more frivolous shit every single day? My own weight in cinnamon would cost less than my rent.
Thank you for your concern, Maarit from the 1600s, but trust me, we're good. I can measure this cardamom with my heart and not the scale.
i love antique stores you go to check out & theyre like “where the hell did you get this”

I’ve been on tumblr for almost 13 years and I refuse to know what homestuck is about
The thing that amazes me is that I've been on tumblr for ages and dashboard osmosis has conveyed absolutely nothing to me about Homestuck whatsoever.
There are whole episodes of Supernatural that I've seen in their entirety through gifsets. I don't even know what sort of a thing Homestuck is or where I would find it. I know less about what happens in Homestuck, which presumably actually exists, than what happens in Goncharov, which doesn't.
I spend hours every day on tumblr. I don't know how this is possible.
we’re not supposed to know what this many people think. legit we're not supposed to be seeing so many thoughts and opinions - i don't think we're wired for it
like in the space of two decades - ppl went from only knowing the ppl in their neighborhood to incessantly scrolling through the thoughts of thousands of other folks all day every day. the amount of bad advice/info goes up proportionally. even the term "influencer" being a thing is weird in itself. non-stop psyops. i think that's partially why tumblr feels "ok" it's not as populated as everywhere else
