“Who are you and what have you done with the TK Strand I met eight months ago?”

“Shut up.”

“I’m mister hot shot firefighter from New York, I’m not looking for this.” Carlos says, voice pitched a few octaves higher than normal. “I just want to sulk around in my hoodies and avoid emotional connection.”

“Ugh,” TK whines, shimmying his shoulders in a futile attempt to shake himself out of Carlos’s embrace. “I don’t even sound like that.”

“Uh huh,” Carlos nuzzles his neck for a beat before stepping back to accept his glass of wine. “And you cooked? You’ve never cooked for me, I don’t think I even knew you could cook.”

“I cook!” TK says defensively. “I basically grew up in a firehouse, I can cook. The kitchen is just kind of your domain so I’ve stayed out of it.” He raises an accusatory eyebrow. “I don’t know if anybody’s ever told you this, baby, but you’re kind of a control freak.”

can't wait for eddie to come clean to buck about everything in the diaz kitchen in the dead of night and it's a tough conversation, a little ugly, and the lights are low and eddie can barely look at buck and buck can't look away because how did he miss this. he's always so wrapped up in a relationship when eddie needs him the most and he always ends up missing eddie's declines until he's already at rock bottom. but this isn't about him. this is about eddie. and eddie's tearing up and he's chasing his dead wife who he can't ever get back and he's drowning in guilt and he doesn't know what to do and buck doesn't know what to do either. but he remembers the knot in his stomach and the way it didn't untangle itself until eddie hugged him. so he moves round the island and wraps eddie in his arms and eddie breaks and buck holds him through it all.

In the time they waited for their food to arrive, they laid there in silence, Carlos’s head in TK’s lap, with TK running his fingers through Carlos’s dark curls. 

“TK… I know I’m not making it easy… But I love you so much, please don’t leave.” 

TK was dumbfounded for a moment, “Sit up.” 

Carlos did as he was asked, now sitting across from TK with his knees pulled to his chest, arms crossed resting on his knees, and his chin placed on his arm, giving TK the saddest eyes he had ever seen. 

“Carlos. Your dad died. I don’t expect you to be over it within a day, a week, a month, or even a year. Grief is ugly, and an ongoing process. I still think about my mom every day. I still cry over her on a bad day. I am never leaving. You are stuck with me, forever. I’m not going anywhere. I mean it. If I have to remind you that every day, then I will. You are my person, my soulmate, my everything. You’ve saved me countless times. You make me feel whole and loved. And you deserve the very same. I’m sorry if I pushed you to go to the grief group too early.” 

“It’s not that… I just…” and right as Carlos was about to try to explain to him what happened, the doorbell rang. Their dinner had arrived.

'I (35F) recently started seeing someone (33M). We met at my job, and he was really sweet and charming at first, but things have been starting to feel weird. He doesn't ask me about myself, and a couple of times he's called me another woman's name, and I'm starting to think that he's married or something???

[UPDATE] Okay it's so much worse. We had dinner at his place and I noticed a bunch of blank spots where you could tell there were pictures hanging up, but he must have forgotten one. Because. There's a photo by the door of his son and this woman who looks??? just???? like me?????
