the reason Bruce thinks Jon has the potential to be "more powerful" than Clark is because, after Streaky and Alfred the Cat first met, Bruce got firsthand experience of how much trouble can come about by combining Earth and Kryptonian genetics.

When the Batfam first met the Shazamily everyone wondered how long Damian would go before asking Freddy The Question. (you know, about why he lives his daily life with a significant physical impairment rather than keeping the powers "switched on" all the time). 3 minutes 26 seconds. Dick won $20 on the bet.

when the tabloids caught pictures of Jon and his new boyfriend being affectionate, several right wing outlets started publishing "Not My Superman!" articles. in response, Clark - in costume - very publicly frenched billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne the next time he needed saving.

Frankenstein is sick of people trying to correct him with, "actually, it's Frankenstein's monster, Frankenstein was the doctor." his rebuttal tends towards pointing out the Victor never got his doctorate, meaning neither Frankenstein was the doctor.

365 DC Comics Paper Cut-Out SuperHeroes - One Hero, Every Day, All Year…

June 20th - Danny The Street

Danny is sentient parcel of urban architecture that can teleport and transport themselves to anywhere in the world, blinking into existence and causing the rest of reality to accommodate their existence.   Danny has traveled the planet in this fashion for decades, moving from place to place and allowing stragglers, those people who feel left behind or tossed out by society, to have a place of respite.  They entertain their guests with a twenty-four hour cabaret along with various shops and haberdasheries.   Danny identifies as gender-nonconforming, expressing themselves by putting pink, frilly awnings or curtains on gun stores and the like.  Danny found themselves targeted by the shadowy organization known as The Men from N.O.W.H.E.R.E. who wanted to eliminate the street as part of their agenda to enforce a purely normal and conventional reality. Fortunately, Danny was aided by The Doom Patrol.  For a while thereafter Danny became the headquarters of The Doom Patrol.  Later, Danny assisted a newly formed iteration of The Teen Titans in escaping the nefarious institution known as The Colony.   Danny sacrificed themselves to save the Teen Titans and they were rendered into Danny the Brick.  Although merely a brick, Danny still possesses all of their powers.  Danny reconnected with Crazy Jane of the Doom Patrol and together they explore the cosmos.  Ultimately they created Danny The Planet, a realm where outsiders can be insiders.   Danny the Planet was targeted by a terrible intergalactic fast food chain that wanted to use Danny’s powers to create an endless supply of meat.  Danny created the hero Space Case as part of an effort to reform the Doom Patrol to fend off this threat.  They succeeded and Danny continues to thrive out there in the unknown.   Danny The Street first appeared in the pages of Doom Patrol Vol. 2 #35 (1990).

John Davey was hired to play Captain Marvel when the Filmation producer fired the original actor 1/2 through the second season.

Davey was a former Marine Corps and heavyweight boxer (he once was a sparring partner for Joe Frazier). He portrayed the Captain in the remaining 11 episodes plus three episode of the companion series “The Secrets of Isis”.

I’ve only seen a couple episode with Davey. My general impression is that he has the wrong look for the part. He looks like a boxer.

Les Tremaine portrayed “Mentor”, a supporting character on the series. He was a kind of substitute for the Wizard Shazam. He joined Billy as thry travels the country in a Dodge motorhome, looking for injustices to resolve.

Source: “Shazam!” (1974)

That connects with my theory that Filmation owed favors to a number of (mostly middle-aged) character actors which was why this version of Shazam has the seven gods personified and played by actors but lacks Freddy and Mary.

The McMansion Hell Yearbook: 1978

Howdy Folks! Today’s house comes to us from Iredell County, North Carolina, and trust me, it is quite a doozy - just in time for Valentines Day, too! If you don’t fall in love with it, I don’t know what to tell you.

This 5300 square foot, 4 bedroom, 4.5 bath house, comes in at $625,000, making it more of a bargain than most McMansions usually are, and while the Tudors never came to America, a place that had not yet been “discovered” by the time the Tudors were in power in England, fear not - for all the repression and stuffiness of 15th century Britain can still be found within these darkened doors.

Lawyer Foyer

If your house doesn’t constantly give off I AM MARRIED vibes, your spouse might start having indecent thoughts. One must stay vigilant at all times.

Dining Room

Look, hutches are good storage, okay. Sturdy. We as a generation (millennials) need to get back into knickknacks. Minimalism is dead. Long live kitsch.

Living Room

Honestly, this house is so dark and repressed it makes high school me look like a libertine.

Kitchen

“What do you mean ‘dopeness’ isn’t a qualifier for granting a property historical landmark status?”

Main Bedroom

Love is in the air. Also the air is really, really stale in here right now.

Bathroom

If your bathroom doesn’t emulate a luxuriant grotto, wyd???

Bedroom 2

please, my floor ducks, they are so cold,,,,

Sunroom

I have got to stop using epic ironically. I already lived through 2008 once.

That’s it for the interior! Let’s just step outside for a quick breather…

Rear Exterior

Well, I hope you had a good time traipsing through what can only be described as a treasure trove of different matching fabrics. Be sure to stick around for the next part of “Underground” which is coming your way shortly!

There is a whole new slate of Patreon rewards, including: good house of the month, an exclusive Discord server, weekly drawings, monthly livestreams, a reading group, free merch at certain tiers and more!

Not into recurring donations but still want to show support? Consider the tip jar!

Or, Check out the McMansion Hell Store! Proceeds from the store help protect great buildings from the wrecking ball.

Needs a 1978 station wagon parked outside, with fake wood paneling. One of the midsize GMs whose rear windows infamously didn’t roll down, so we won’t even bring the outside inside the car which is technically the outside!

365 DC Comics Paper Cut-Out SuperHeroes - One Hero, Every Day, All Year…

January 26th - Captain Marvel Jr.

Freddy Freeman had been an orphan who required a crutch to walk (possibly a result of a childhood bout of polio). He was selling newspapers when he was accosted by the super villain called Captain nazi. Angered by the newspaper’s headline, the evil-doer lifted poor Freddy over his head and threw the lad into the bay. Captain Marvel was able to rescue Freddy before he drowned, yet his injuries were severe. In order to save the boy’s life, Captain Marvel shared a portion of his magical powers with Freddy and he was transformed into Captain Marvel Junior. He now possessed the powers of flight, enhanced strength and durability as well as augmented wisdom and intellect. Unlike Captain Marvel, who transformed into an adult version of himself when he used the powers of Shazam, Freddy remained a youngster in his empowered form. Captain Marvel Jr. would go on to have many adventures both on his own and alongside the rest of The Marvel Family. He would later join an iteration of the Titans as well as Young Justice; and later served briefly with the Justice League. Actor Jack Dylan Grazer portrayed Freddy Freeman in the Shazam movie (with Adam Brody playing Freddy’s older, super-powered self). Captain Marvel Junior first appeared in the pages of Whiz Comics #25 (1941).

Freddy: Billy, can you come to therapy with me next week?
Billy: Sure, why?
Freddy: She thinks I’m making you and all your issues up.

It’s physical therapy. This is just what Freddy and the PT get to talking about while she’s doing range-of-motion exercises on his bad leg.
