J.D. Higher Power and Associates once again reviewed all the great nations of Tyria and awarded the Norn animal spirits for “Best in Class Belief System” as well as “Highest Customer Satisfaction.” They edged out their Sylvari counterpart due to recent events with an elder dragon. But the leafy dreamers shouldn’t feel too bad, as they were given the prize for “Best Initial Quality.”
Walking away with the award for “Deity Dependability Study” was the Eternal Alchemy largely due to their ridged adherence to the code. The human gods, who largely seem to not care about their flock, were ranked last in nearly every study.

I was running around Verdant Brink last night when saw some RP happening in /s. I ran around a corner and saw a charr warband. Not just like three or four characters, but what looked like it had to be around 10 folk, walking through the jungle. I only hung around for a couple lines bc I didn’t want to feel like a creep but WOW I can leave the game happy now. They were called the Shard band and I hope the jungle treats them well.
Rahr! Glad you enjoyed, that’s part of why we RP out in the world - we like seeing that happen, too! I post write-ups of our (mis)adventures here... though less regularly than I should. Right now there’s SO MUCH that’s happened, think my next WUWTWB is just gonna have to be an abstract.
What are you scared of?
I ain’t scared’a much, really. Th’ dragons set me back on mah spurs a bit, sure. And there’s a few critters that get mah hackles up. But ... eh... mostly I’m scared of heights. Really, it ain’t even heights, it’s th’ idea of fallin’ off somethin’. More like... unsteady bridges, or edges without railings.
And yeah. That made th’ deployment out to th’ jungle suck bad.

((As usual, this one is about 2 weeks late... sigh...))
It's been a busy couple'a weeks. Short form is, we done a lotta patrols out in th' jungle. Seen a lot of really weird things, killed a lotta mordrem critters... and native jungle stuff. Turns out th' mini raptors are really good eatin' if you cook 'em right.
Shardfeather got th' wrecked chopper working, which has been great. It shakes shakes like a wet dog, but apparently that's normal? We've used it fer evac an' insertion. Kinda nerve wrackin', given how many of those got ripped apart by th' vines during th' pact assault, but that seems to have calmed down now. Maybe somethin' else is keepin' Mordrem busy. Or it's takin' a nap. Who knows what dragons do?
We've done a lot of work with th' natives, and gotten a fair number of Pact people t' safety. Some are stayin'at our FOB, some just needed t' rejoin th' main force and got back to fighting.
Best news is, we're finally gettin' rotated back home. We gotta carry a bunch of Mordrem samples down to Rata Sum, where some Ash an' Priory folks are gonnna take delivery and do some research on 'em. After that, I'm takin' us through th' gate to Lion's Arch, and cuttin' everybody loose. I know some of 'em are gonna want t' do some patrols around th' area, or maybe back home.
I could use some Ebonhawke ale, an' a few dozen wurm eggs. And a visit to a few friends.

Art! Do you appreciate art? What sorts of art do you find yourself most drawn to (paintings, sculptures, music, etc)? Is there a particular subject matter you especially like seeing?
Huh. I never really thought about it b’fore, I guess. Uh... I like music okay, I guess, especially marching chants. Some sculptures are neat, but I really hate most of th’ human ones, and they make so many! I think mah fav’rit really is a well designed machine. It’s a kind’a art, where th’ pieces are elegant, simple, and graceful. Like... some of th’ ramps in th’ Command Core, at th’ Black Citadel. There’s just somethin’ about th’ way they fit th’ space, doin’ exactly what needs doin’, but graceful.
Do you want cubs someday? Why or why not? What would have to happen first before you were willing to settle down (at least for a bit)?
Huh. Funny you should mention this, what with a cub runnin’ around th’ FOB these days. Cute little terror.
I got no real desire t’ have cubs, and make damn sure I stay on th’ suppressants t’ keep that from happenin’ any time soon.
Now, I’mma prob’ly change my mind about that some day. maybe after th’ warband settles down some, an’ I can take a week weeks t’ whelp an’ wean. But I don’t see that happenin’ any time soon.
What are you most proud of? What are you most ashamed of?
First one’s a real short list. Mah warband, without question.
Second’s... more complicated. It’d have t’ be th’ times I’ve done... well... th’ wrong thing fer what I think was th’ right reason.
I still hear that Asura’s screams, sometimes. An’ I can’t walk past that place out by that little fort, without seein’ how that Charr dropped.
If you were offered a promotion to Centurion, would you accept it, knowing that it meant leaving your 'band behind?
No.
I got no desire t’ live that kinda headache. I love mah warband. I’m glad t’ leave that high-order brass crap to people who’s way better at it than I’m ever gonna be.
What qualities do you find appealing in a leader? What about in one of your soldiers? What qualities are attractive in a potential mate?
Huh. I’ve had some ... uh... I dunno. Flawed leaders, I guess is th’ best way t’ put it. Not bad, just... not great.
Strength, honesty, smarts. I gotta be able t’ trust they got not just my best interests at heart, but th’ Legion’s above that. And all above themselves.
Same perty much goes fer my soldiers. Bein’ solid an’ dependable counts fer a lot. Ya don’t gotta be th’ best fighter, but ya gotta be willin’ to try!
Fer a mate? Stripes, smarts, a good sense’a humor, and not gettin’ attached. And ... uh... heh. Nevermind.
What do you like to do in your free time?

Free time! Hahahah! Oh, burn me... I remember that stuff! Nah, really, I do have a little downtime now an’ then. Mostly I like t’ tinker. Just... yano...mess around with mah turrets, fix any ol’ machine sittin’ around that needs some lovin’, that kinda thing.
And drinkin’. Tha’s always good. Don’t get t’ do as much of that as we used to when we was stationed closer to th’ citadel.
If (hypothetically, perhaps as a result of some horrific Asuran experiment), you awoke one day as a human, how would you react?

Uh... I ... I got no idea! I mean, I wouldn’t do somethin’ that was obviously treasonous. I mean, we already had THAT problem, with our old Centurion. And he’s dead now, ‘cause of that.
I will admit I’m kinda... creative about interpretin’ orders sometimes. And sometimes mah hearin’ is a little... yano. Bad. What from training in tanks, and on th’ mortar range. So I might accidentally miss somebody tellin’ me not to do somethin’.
Totally innocent tho. Yah.
