I literally work retail and at a bookstore. Regardless of if someone steals a dress or a whole series of books I’m still getting $7 an hour. Can all you anti-lifters shut the fuck up and get a life that doesn’t involve policing others?

I have worked five retail jobs. I work one now. Half the time, I would hope someone stole because I hated the companies.

They don’t see pictures of food. They see pictures of extravagant items that they can’t afford or they have to slave away to get. That’s where the hate comes from. So instead of taunting them just block and ignore. It doesn’t make you look like a badass, it just makes you look like you want trouble or childish.

it really confuses me that anti-lifters are typically right wing because their main defense is that we’re hurting minimum wage workers and yet they don’t support anything that would improve the lives of minimum wage workers.

If you’re an asshole enough to post a sign like this, indicating I should feel sorry for YOU, corporate asshole, and place importance on profit and merchandise over human life— I will actually steal from you MORE. Signs like these are far from amusing. They’re barbaric. People actually HAVE been stabbed and beaten, thanks to the power and prevalence of the capitalist ideals that take from the poor to further benefit the rich. Many poor have their hands cut off in developing countries as law and punishment for daring to feed their starving families. This kind of punishment has existed EVERYWHERE in the world and some point or another, in spite of social advancement. It is well known that capitalism is more important than human lives. Profit and corporations, business people, the growth of already established members of society is deemed more important than the mere maintenance and sustenance of the poor.

Every time I see this post, I wait for someone to point out how disgusting it is instead of taking it as a joke, and no one ever does.

I can actually think of reason why ppl take them, that way next time they lift from there they can give back a lower number so the SA doesn’t question the number of clothes they leave the room with

people always want some sort of structured blue print for how to lift but tbh no such thing exists. it really is your own style and comfort. some people can pull off huge hauls worth thousands of dollars with zero anxiety and some people are best at grabbing a thing or two on the way to the register. it’s all about what you’re best at imo and i think trying to fit yourself into someone else’s mold is a killer when it comes to being caught.

Why lifting makeup is 100% okay:

A capitalist patriarchy economically profits on the hatred of women… this is why women are forcibly bombarded with images of what were supposed to look like since birth (especially thru porn, ALL media outlets, magazines etc) so that women will spend thousands of dollars a year on makeup, bras, heels, cosmetic surgeries etc and this benefits men socially and economically.

When our society tells women through all forms of media that their natural appearance is not enough, it creates self esteem issues that can quickly be eased by the relief of expensive makeup. Why does urban decay cost so much? Because so many women (including myself) are willing to pay.. us women are inundated our entire lives to wear makeup and the punishment for not partaking in it is very harsh. This includes ridicule, abuse, bullying and also being seen as less professional.

Why do so many women refuse to leave the house w/o makeup? Why are men not expected to wear makeup but we are? Why are women considered sickly looking w/o makeup and men are not? And why are women ridiculed and seen as subhuman when they do not conform to beauty standards? It is aggressive socialization that makes us believe these things..

Makeup, contrary to what anti lifters say, IS a need. The temporary relief and confidence that comes from makeup is something I personally NEED. The fact that women can get turned away from job opportunities for not wearing makeup is enough reason to lift all you want of it. I need makeup even though it is a disgusting tool of patriarchal oppression. Think critically about makeup even though we all love it, and lift it instead of lining the pockets of the white men who subjugate us. It’s all we can do.

Also, a disclaimer: im not hating on anyone for wearing makeup, i merely hate the expensive beauty standards imposed on women by men our entire lives.
