I know it’s not much in the face of everything but I have been finding hope & resilience in palestinian poetry these past few weeks and I created a google drive file of poetry collections by palestinian poets that I will keep updating as I keep on reading. I also recommend checking out @fiercynn’s palestinian poets series for more poets + poetry available online

I hate tswift and her obsessed fans but it’s gonna be real bad when tumblr + twitter collectively realize that all their favorite millionaire celebrities are bourgeois fucks whose individual lifestyles cause more damage than entire communities in the global south, who feel the impact of climate change both sooner and harder. Obviously corporations and the US military are worse, but being “better” than a megacorp or the imperialist murder machine is a low fucking bar, your favorite millionaire is not exempt because they’re doing less damage than Saudi Aramco and Chevron. I don’t care if people casually watch Hollywood movies or listen to pop music, but celebrity worship is a disease. They don’t care about you. If they cared about you they wouldn’t have private jets and yachts and shit.
did you guys see the poem from a couple of days ago in poetry dot org’s daily poem it was so good and a treat to read
been thinking about it since i read it
thank you for sharing with everyone. i feel as if i’m meant to see this; my unci showed this poem to me for her lakota literature class asking for help in understanding it. it stood out to me among the many she showed me. not only because of the unique shape which reminded us of stars, of star quilts, their diamonds, and it makes the poem readable from many paths. to me, the author’s words speak of the obligation we have to face the past, to embrace our grief, to unravel the tragedies of colonialism. it is our obligation as descendants, as ancestors, as stewards and we must do it together. it’s very powerful.

I needed to make a world where I could look for my grandmother once she left this one. I invented a world because death is unknowable and someone I lived was about to live there.
