OUGHH im. taking this to mean just a gorgeous movie just a visually stunning gorgeous movie. i have two im sorry i am sorry they are in conversation tho. to me. to me they are in conversation. ok. in the mood for love (2000) and all of us strangers (2023) hehehe. ok hear me out so in the mood for love is like ok what if two people had the most insane tension ever and every shot is engineered to make the audience yearn. movie about tension and yearning and longing and pining and oughhhh. you are watching them from the next table over in the restaurant. from around a corner from behind a wall. in the mirror thru the window. always a degree of separation.. visually stunning movie of yellows and reds and oranges and wowowowow. love her. movie that makes you want to reach out and touch the screen. ok ok ok. meanwhile all of us strangers is like. the opposite. cooler tones, blues and purples and greens. and WOW they are touching. a lot. movie about lingering in touch and connection and warmth and physical intimacy. the romance is in the being together. two movies that are sooo opposite and sooo the same. where in the mood for love says intimacy is created in the moments before touch.. in the stolen glances.. passion is created in the unspoken. you are looking in on these characters and you feel like you are spying. all of us strangers says intimacy is created in the lingering touch. in the unbroken eye contact. in this cold world we hold onto each other for warmth and we speak the unspeakable and that is how we love. you are close to these characters in their most intimate vulnerable moments. ough. and visually stunning movies good god. movies that define romance to me each in their own absolutely gorgeous masterful ways. i love you wong kar-wai i love you andrew haigh. thank you for inventing romance and intimacy...
lucky i wasn’t born with a dick bc i’d get hard from seeing a beautiful body of water

movie rec!! #29 👀👀👀
Okay I have two for this one!
First is Moonstruck because I love Cher and everything about this movie. It just makes me feel nice!
And second is The Full Monty. It's just so ridiculous and fun, but also strangely uplifting. There is something about seeing a group of mostly middle-aged men learning to do a Chippendale's routine to earn money that just makes me so happy.
