She packs her supersuit, too. The cape takes up an unfortunate amount of space, but she can’t bring herself to leave it behind. Besides, what’s she going to do? Show up at the local consignment shop, supersuit in hand, and say, “Hello, how are you! I’d like to donate this! Why does it look exactly like the suit worn by a well-known vigilante superhero on the run from the law? Why is it made of flame-resistant bulletproof fabric? Don’t worry about those things, please!” Yeah. She’s bringing the suit.

This is the Stardew Valley fic I've been working on since February! It's a superhero AU, topped with a generous serving of secret identity shenanigans, angst, hurt/comfort, shameless flirting and banter, and dramatic irony. It's finally far enough along (85k (yikes)) that I can start posting chapters without having to go back and edit them! Enjoyyyy

The important thing is that Marcille did not learn to blaspheme against the natural order to save her girlfriend. She just happened to have studied the art of spitting in God's eye for wholly unrelated reasons, and when the opportunity by chance arose to employ that skill in service of girlfriend-saving, she was ready.

Ch. 2/6 — Boycott Love (Detox Just To Retox) T+ | Sebastian/Female Farmer Tags: Hanahaki, Mutual Pining, Angst With A Happy Ending, (but also with a little comedy mixed in for fun and flavor), Ill-Advised Medical Decisions, Hospitals, Misunderstandings Chapter Summary: Ava thinks about her treatment options, and then doesn’t think about them at all. Sebastian teaches her to play pool. Ava learns very little.

It occurs to Ava, very briefly, that going to the saloon might be a little terrible for her recovery process. The thought enters her brain, and she immediately traps it under a little glass jar with a piece of paper, like an angry hornet buzzing around the kitchen, and throws it back outside... I can hang out with Sebastian as a good platonic buddy, she tells her reflection in the mirror as she carefully applies winged eyeliner, as she frantically smooths her hair back into a sleek ponytail, as she spritzes herself with vanilla-citrus perfume and tries on three different cardigans to see which one brings out her eyes the best before leaving the house. “Did you do something new with your hair?” he asks, as soon as she slides into the booth next to him. His arm brushes against hers as she settles in, and she can feel the warmth of it even through his hoodie. He smells like fresh-cut pine and cigarette smoke. She has a decidedly non-platonic urge to bury her face in his shoulder and keep it there. “It looks nice.”

Say what you want about the 2023 Shakespeare in The Park production of Hamlet, but the choices made in that play WORKED. Having Hamlet wear a black hoodie and camo pants and him dramatically putting his hood up when he was pissed off was inspired. Having Horatio video tape Claudius on an iPhone camera from the side of the stage during the play within the play was hilarious. Having the play within the play be a hip hop dance number that represented the murder!?! Fantastic. Having Ophelia be a singer before she went mad and having a beautiful voice that everyone loved to listen to and then seeing her singing get worse and worse as she got nearer to death?!?! Hamlet pulling out his iphone after killing Polonius to show his mom a picture of his dad compared to a picture of Claudius and angrily swiping back and forth between the two as he said “What judgement would step from this… to this?” The crowd fucking lost it every time. Horatio singing to Hamlet as he died made me fully sob every time. The way they did the ghost on stage was so chilling and I can’t even accurately describe it, you just had to be there. Hamlet being deeply exasperated the entire time was just perfect. Hamlet and Horatio had a secret handshake. Laertes inexplicably carried an acoustic guitar case for much of the play which was very funny but also hit you with the heartbreaking implication that he had used to play while Ophelia sang and he stopped carrying it after she died. It was peak teenage-angst-hamlet and it was so dear to me. PLEASE if anyone has a recording, send it to me.

OMG EVERYBODY LISTEN UP!!!

THEY'RE GOING TO BROADCAST THIS PRODUCTION ON PBC FOR FREE!! YOU CAN WATCH IT!! PLEASE DO!!!

Going to try to tag everybody who said they wanted to watch it in the notes:

No one asked but I think the secret to making the enemies-to-lovers trip work is respect. They can loath each other, but they have to loath each other as equals. Like “sorry but no one else is allowed to murder this man but me” + “it’s an honor and privilege to despise you.”

I'm always seeing this sentiment of "I have got to make my art weirder" or people begging for weirder art but here's the thing, Weird is not a brand. You cannot rack your brains trying to figure out the "Weird" formula. You don't get weird art by artificially forcing whatever you think is "weird." You get weird art (and I think "weird" is sometimes people groping for a way of saying non-corporatized) by figuring out what you like, deep down, even (especially) if you think it's embarrassing and wallowing in it like a pig

also "weird" is so subjective

I sent the same manuscript to a handful of beta readers AND my mother (bold move) with the self-conscious question of "Is this too weird?" (The 'weird' in question being something I wholeheartedly love).

the beta readers unanimously replied "This is t-a-m-e! MAKE IT WEIRDER!"

while my mum squirmed and said it was the weirdest thing she had ever read (!!?) and she was genuinely concerned that it wasn't publishable.

You'll always be too weird for some people and not weird enough for others; forget trying to conform to either and find your weird instead.

ok but helen and odysseus have SO much potential as a brotp. his lying/disguise skills + her vocal impression abilities? the chaos would be UNSTOPPABLE

concept: the scene in little iliad where odysseus sneaks into troy to find the palladium and helen recognizes him, but it’s shot exactly like the window reunion scene from doctor who

the little iliad is a lost epic so i’m just going to assume this is what happened :)

Hey! I finished something! Tried a new color technique with this one, and I had lots of fun with it (and it was waaaay faster than my silly ways). Thanks, artists on Patreon, for taking my money and teaching me things <3
