Small rant/PSA
So I see this a lot on RPH tags and in the RP community, and it’s a really big pet peeve as a writer, so here it is. When I see this:

I start to see red.
What you’re doing isn’t slang, it isn’t casual talk, and above all, it’s not cute. You look like you couldn’t pass first-grade English, and it makes people actually interested in writing cringe.This is a writing community, not a text messaging system.
Now make no mistake, this is not a blast at people who have learning disorders or whose primary language isn’t English. I’ve had people from both of those groups write with me, and they try their damned hardest, so that makes me even angrier when I see this: someone who struggles with writing, or struggles with English, writes better than lazy-ass people in the community who think that what they’re doing is somehow endearing. I’m also not blasting anyone who uses abbreviations now and then– we all do it to save a little time. My issue is when someone relentlessly uses abbreviations and poor spelling (like in my example) because they’re too lazy to take five extra seconds to sound coherent, and they think it looks edgy or cool.
The second I see someone talking like this in the community, I’m inclined to block them. It’s lazy and it defeats the purpose of being in a writing-based community if you’re going to do the least amount of effort to write even simple sentences.You don’t look trendy or hip, you look like you need to go back to elementary school and re-learn the basics.
