"Nice to meet you." Virgie waved and studied him for a minute. "There's something different about you. Good different, though. I like it."

the ranger gives a wiggle of his fingers in greeting , a smile tugging at his lips . ❝ don't hear good different very often , i like you already . ❞ his head tips slightly , before a softer smile works across his face . ❝ we'll have you fitting in with the others in no time at all . ❞

Virgie's just going to return the gesture and grin back at him. "I can just sense good things about you, and that's cool. I hung around with a guy a while back that taught me a lot about sensing stuff, whether it's people's intentions or what's going on around you."

"That was RJ, right?" Charlie asked. "Best damn pizza I've ever had. "Oh, and his toast isn't bad either."

I feel like there are enough people who'd see you two together and say 'well if Bridge thinks she's okay, she must be.' " She's going to point to a short brunette coming down the hall. bridge doesn't mind either way , he's long-since learned to stop caring if people were off-put in any way by his abilities . he follows her gesture , and hums softly with a nod . ❝ i'll talk to her , then --- get a feel for her and let people see . ❞

“I definitely could,” Conner says. “Besides, how hard can being a detective be? You just gotta look for the different coloured objects in the background or the guy twirling his moustache.”

Piers certainly needed a night to drink. Maybe even someone to help him forget the loneness of the night. And being in this world for about eight months now, he'd become basically a regular in this one bar.

He of course had a choice to try to pick someone up at the club he worked at from time to time. But…that would've been a little awkward. Even for him.

So, half past midnight, Piers could be sitting at the bar kicking back his second drink. Thankfully, he wasn't a lightweight when it came to drinking.

For anyone who might see him that night, could see that he had on a black sleeveless shirt, skin tight leather pants, spiked and studded black boots with skulls at the toe and his usual make-up and choker on tonight. Not exactly classy.

But he was comfortable. If people didn't like how he dressed, then they didn't have to look at him.

Still…Piers couldn't help to glance around the bar to see if there was anyone that might catch his fancy. So far, no dice.

She actually just wanted one drink, and maybe to people watch. Charlie didn't drink any more than that unless she was with someone she trusted. Perhaps she should blame her time working for the Secret Police for that.

Or maybe it was good to be cautious.

Either way, her gaze did land on the man in spikes and black leather. While he did seem out of place, no one was really bothering him.

Still, Charlie didn't trust people. Well, most people. She just hid it well. And hey, he was pretty, so it was a good excuse to say hello as any.

She sidled over to him and flashed a grin. "Scuse the interruption, but if you're going to drink while being that pretty, you shouldn't be here alone-people are crazy perverts. Mind if I join you? I promise I'm just crazy. I've only had one, so you can drink what you like and I'll threaten to punch any creepos in the face for you. I throw a mean left AND right hook, I'll have you know."

Was she offering to be his bodyguard? Way to go with the pickup lines, Charlie. Still, she really did have honorable intentions.

“Actually, me and Triceratops have been busy trying to train a group of five new zords we just found, sitting around, as frigging rocks.” Tyranno leans down, before adding, “Plus, I’ve been trying to find a chiropractor for my wonky posture for the past sixty-five years.”

She can't help laughing just a little. "That's actually pretty interesting. I know a few things about mechanics, but I've never worked on zords before. That's more Kat's thing. Anyway, how's it going otherwise?"

Lassiter sighed as he made his way into work. He barely slept last night and the new case was already putting him through the ringer. His only saving grace today was Charlie would be there today. She somehow was the one that kept him sane. Between Spencer and Charlie they both kept he as stable as he could be. Lassiter made his way into the kitchen to grab his morning coffee.

"At least for the moment. I think Spencer might be back this afternoon, if not sooner. Don't tell him I told you, though. You know he likes to make a grand entrance." She grinned.

"Speaking of that, be right back." She left long enough to retrieve a small folder, and then offered it to him. "Courtesy of a friendly, non-judgmental FBI agent who thinks I'm a badass. Won't solve the case for us, but there are a few leads in there."

"You did what with who?" Charlie was currently on the phone. "And how did that go? Really? Well, I'm glad it worked, but I don't think that'll work out for every person you want to rehabilitate. Still, I've met that guy and he's pretty cool. Anyway, keep me posted, would you?" She hung up and turned to see Lassiter.

"Cheer up-the chaos hasn't started yet." Way to make him feel better, Charlie.

Having to actually go out and pick up the wounded had its disadvantages. It hadn’t been an exchange-just answering a distress call. Thankfully Charlie had a firearm she could shoot successfully, but it hadn’t stopped her from getting hit in the side herself.

She could tell it was nothing to worry about, but she’d had to quickly apply a temporary fix. Nothing was bleeding, and if everything worked out, she could get Margaret to help her.

Unfortunately there’d been another batch of wounded arrive, and they were all there longer than expected. There was no sign of Margaret, and Charlie was starting to hurt.

Well, there was always the colonel-he was on the ‘know’ list. 

She didn’t get that far though-a sharp pain hit her side and she clutched it, staggering outside.

“Damn, I’m in a fix.”

“Aw, shucks,” Charlie drawled. “But seriously, thanks. I just wanted to help people.” She grinned over at Klinger and downed the whiskey in one gulp. “Ahh, that feels better. “Though I didn’t enlist until I was talked into it by one of my old med school teachers, who happens to be a veteran himself and still has some friends high up. Still had to prove myself like everyone else, though.”

But beggars can’t be choosers in a war, and I know a guy who knows a guy. But yeah, I did get lucky, though I don’t think the other guy was aiming very well.”
