When Will That Boy Just Go Away?!

The negative portrayal of Justin Bieber in the media. Posted by Liana B. 6/20/14

I’m pretty sure we all know who Justin Bieber is and how he’s portrayed in the media. Recently, there’s been no good. There hasn't been any good in a long time (except that time he was recently overseas in France). You may think that as a belieber I would have extreme bias when it comes to Bieber. That may hold some truth but, as a normal human being I know when people cross the line to where it turns into bullying.

I think we all get it by now, Justin Bieber is not the same kid everyone saw in Never Say Never. He’s grown up and made mistakes, a lot of mistakes. But since when do we let that define who a person is? I've made numerous amount of mistakes and I’m positive you all have too. People have gotten to the point where they are shamelessly bashing Justin for something that happened back in 2010. News flash people it’s 2014! People cringe and boo when they hear his name. I’m pretty sure they can give you no good reason other than the ones they hear on the radio, see on TV or read in a magazine. New flash #2: stories degrading celebrities is what sells! Whether it’s the truth or not. Have you ever seen TMZ?!

It was brought to my attention recently, today actually, an incident that showed how much people really don’t like Bieber. On the Wendy Williams Show his name was mentioned and the entire crowd booed him and she then went onto say “god I hate him” and “When is that boy just going to go away?! My producers say it’ll happen when his little beliebers grow up and move on”. Left me speechless honestly. People want to see him fail so bad. His fans are bullied constantly. I don’t see the point in attacking this kid, as well as any other celebrities in the spotlight. These celebrities are just like any of us. They wake up every morning, have a cup of coffee, go to work, eat, sleep, repeat. The only difference is that their life is broadcasted to the entire world.     In some cases, I agree that Justin Bieber needs to get his act together. However to attack and judge him for everything he does, c’mon people. He’s an artist, judge him on his music. Don’t like his music? Don’t listen to it. Instead of giving someone you “hate” so much attention, ignore it. So Wendy Williams, when exactly is Justin Bieber going away? My guess is that it won't be for a long time. The truth is whether it's negative or positive, Justin's name is always going to be relevant and making headlines, he's going to be around for a very long time.

THE FAULT IN OUR FEELS? The Fault In Our Stars movie review. Posted by Liana B.

Yes, The Fault In Our Stars (TFIOS), believe it or not people, started out as book. Hopefully by now you all know about the love story, of Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters, that took the nation by storm.

I read the novel, by John Green, earlier this year and automatically fell in love with the story. It wasn't about two teenagers with cancer but, two teenagers who fall in love and find happiness despite their situations. When I first found out that TFIOS was being adapted into a movie, I was torn. There was part of me who was ecstatic to see something I cherished so much on the big screen. The other half, like anyone else attached to this book, was worried. Worried that the book we adored was going to be ripped to shreds and not portrayed in the way we hoped. However, I must say director, Josh Boone, did a phenomenal job by sticking to the book. Shailene Woodley (Hazel), Ansel Elgort (Augustus), Nat Wolff (Isaac) and the entire cast really brought this book to life. I can honestly say I was very pleased with the film adaptation and wouldn't change a thing. Myself and everyone else in the theater left in tears so, if you haven't seen it yet and plan on doing so please bring tissues. This is a movie that will make you laugh, cry, and smile from ear to ear all in one. All of the characters are relatable and it all starts in the literal heart of Jesus ... don't worry, it's a metaphor

For those bookworms out there this book is a must read! For the non-readers, this is a definite must see movie! Or hey, just do both like I did.

P.S. Thank you John Green for being a life ruiner. Okay?
