Your hands are a little shaky as you allow yours to be taken into his much larger palm, staring anywhere except across the room, where the stony expression feels zeroed in on you. It’s not Tendou’s fault that the way his long, pale fingers wrap around your hand feel dangerous enough to make you sick, but you can’t help but feel it anyway.

She watches the steady rise and fall of his golden chest in the indigo morning light. Before the accident, it was enough to feel the warmth of his sleeping body beside her. It was enough to watch him sleep and to know that in this particular moment- he was safe.

But then his FA/18 plummeted from the sky over the roiling Atlantic Ocean and when she finally found out about it, she assumed her next visit with him would be through the confines of a wooden casket.

Waking from the tossing and turning behind you, you hear hard labored breathing. The hand that earlier was drawing lazy patterns onto your skin, now grabbing your shirt tightly, painfully even. He was subconsciously looking for someone to hold onto, desperately at that.

The heat radiating from him was far from comfortable, leaving hot clammy spots on your skin where he touches you. He groans and the hand clutching your shirt from behind lets go suddenly, finally leaving you the freedom to turn around and look at him.
