i still love criminal minds and making gifs, but i need a fresh start. i’m moving to another blog and this one will become inactive, as well as my main @allstarsaligned.

i can’t stop thinking about emily and spencer’s hug in 13x01

she had just come out of a drug induced delusion while in captivity of a serial killer targeting her team, her family for a few years by that point. she was safe with matt but as soon as spencer showed up she asked for him. “i need something i know is real right now” he was the reassurance she needed after hours of torture and delusion.

for spencer, he had just come out of prison. a hugely traumatic time and throughout the entire episode he is struggling with ptsd from what he experienced there. he isn’t even officially back on the team or allowed in the field but he goes for her and then stays with her as soon as she asks him to. after months and months of solitude and complete separation his team, his family, she asks for him because she needs something real !! imagine the comfort that is for him to be able to be the one she wants in her moment of vulnerability, to be there for her and stay with her because she wants him there despite everything that has happened. he literally does not let go of her, even after they both see scratch dead in front of them.

they are each other’s protectors. she was the only one who confronted him on his strange behaviour while he was in the depths of his addiction. minimal loss. she deliberately blew her cover to protect him from cyrus. she also protected him along with the rest of the team by going after doyle by herself. she believed in him from the very beginning when he was first arrested in mexico and risked her career multiple times to ensure his safety and release. he stood up for her against barnes in front of everyone and made sure she was okay and that she came back to the team when barnes threatened them all.
