It's been a lot of reruns, kimochi content, and Scene Zero (which ended recently). Scene Zero is notable for not being like Main Story/Another Story or being like an event-- it was primarily story content with no battles outside the obscenely difficult witch fights, of which there weren't very many (maybe 2 per chapter).
Kimochi is content but tbh it's not very fun imo unless you're a hardcore whale-- and even then, it's still kind of meh.
Therefor it hasn't felt like there was a lot of content as of late.
So far for the year of 2024, I'd say actual new content we got (that isn't kimochi or scene zero) is:
- New Years event (with Dragon Asuka)
- Valentines event (with Leila & Seika)
- Alina's Atelier (no new units)
- Magia Report event (with Madoka-senpai & Iroha-chan)
even Yuu's release doesn't technically come with a new event, it's with a rerun for Nagisas Wish.
But now that you mention it, this might be another reason people are so excited for Yuu's release-- it feels fresh and new.
