Eden’s Zero First Color page cast reveal

So with the reveal of a lot of new characters of Hiro Mashima’s new series I thought I’d give my two cents.

Now one thing I found interestig was this wasn’t going to be a straight up fantasy story. It seems like its a combination of Fantasy and Sci Fi, so this might be cool.

Now I’ve already talked about Lucy 2.0 and Gratsu fan child, so how about the rest. Well on the left looks like Sting, but not looking like Natsu. It is an okay look, especially the haircut, but that face. That’s Sting. Maybe Hiro just felt bad he didn’t do much with Sing.

The robot looking wizard actually seems cool too. Only FT character I could compare him to is Mato.

Behind him is Erza. Seriously, long red hair, feminine looking eye, guess he used Sieg’s design for Jellal, guess he did it with Erza this time.

Next to her is a design that I actually really like, Looks totally original given Hiro’s current stockpile of designs. Maybe it could be like Bickslow, but I’m going to say, no this is original.

Behind him is Keyes’ robo-demon grandpa.

Then behind him is a cybernetic angel looking character which I think looks really cool. I mean I could make an Eva joke, but this looks nice. Almost a beautiful combination of angelic appearance and mechanical shell.

In front of her is 3 people in similar uniforms. The first is a big guy with an elongated neck who I’m with his design but his face reminds of Jacob. Like Hiro really doesn’t draw grizzly looking men. I also wonder if his neck is actually long or if it’s just and art issue.

To the right of him is Jerome from Avatar only with white hair. Making me think the last arcs were really just Hiro testing designs for his next series rather than actually caring about the end of FT.

Right of him is another design I really like. Sure, she kinda looks like Evergreen, but with the construction of the face and the style of hair, I think it looks pretty good. Now for some reason, Hiro needed to also draw her crotch on this cover page even though she’s in the background.

Continuing right there is older Wendy. Yeah. Hiro really just wanted to draw hot older Wendy. Should’ve  seen that coming given what he did with her in the last arc. Well know he can’t get in trouble for sexualizing her. Also it looks like her ponytail is detached from her head.

Finally is another design I like which is a unique looking old man character. But for some reason I can’t help, but feel I’ve seen is somewhere before. Also he has a robotic arm… Cool.

Also, for some reason Plue and Happy are here and why would you do that? I get Plue, given he is the Stan Lee of Mashima’s world, but Happy? No. Please this is just lazy.

Well that’s all, wonder what else we’ll get.
