to bury my head in the crook of your neck. to lock my fingers with yours. to run my hands through your hair. to pull you closer by your waist. to lay my hand on your jaw and look into your eyes. to love you. with everything i’ve got.

There should be a specific fashion item for keeping your sleeves rolled up. Like big clasping arm bracelets. I think this would improve morale in the gay community somewhat.

There is though

They’re called Sleeve Garters, they started off in the 19th century and where popular with musicians, gamblers, gunslingers and the occasional Victorian gentleman. Nowadays you can see bartenders wearing them

Well, I know I’ve been awol for a while and that this isn’t…strictly the XIV content you all follow me for, but what the hell.

You know how you occasionally get those silly fun AU ideas for your characters? Well one of mine took root in my head and I’ve decided to make it its own thing and bring it to life. Here’s the first 5 minutes of what I hope will become a long, fun series!

If you enjoy it, please consider sharing!

i like irish poetry. i like knowing a man called tadhg ó ruaic, fl. 1684, lost a game of cards to a girl called blánaid on purpose because he wanted her to top him

you penetrate my weak defence / teasing me with anxious love / i know the score; my turn to play / against your side i make my move ... blánaid, my dear, my favourite one / gentle, fragrant, guileless love / it’s time for you to trump my man / and ‘take’ me with a daring move ... come sit beside me, woman of the wavy hair / embrace me, bright branch of the cool grey eyes / resolve my torment, generous-gentle woman / and ‘take’ me quickly to your merciful bed

This year’s issue of Almost Real: A Speculative Biology Zine is mythology themed, so I wanted the cover critter to be a weird take on an extremely recognizable legendary beast.

The marsupial griffin is my shot at that, a large flying carnivore with a rear-facing pouch like a thylacine. Its unusual front incisors are continuously growing like rodent teeth, but exposed like a beak— nursing young have a gap in between them, but as they wean into sub-adults the gap closes and the teeth grow to a sharp hook for tearing into meat and carrion. Their thumbed hind feet somewhat resemble a primate’s, but with a set of sharp talons for capturing and gripping prey.

Our cover for this volume was illustrated by @ibenkrutt, who really knocked this design out of the park. If you’d like to support our contributing artists and acquire the zine, you can check out the campaign over here!

many ways to read this and all are good

  • puts his arm around everyone as an excuse to put his arm around daphne
  • puts his arm around members of his polycule
  • he just loves his friends a lot
  • Fred just enjoys sitting like that and the others take advantage for snuggle time

  • Fred has very wide shoulders, and if he kept his arms down at his sides he would take up a disproportionate amount of space, so he drapes them across the back of whatever he’s sitting on to be considerate to those around him. It’s the moral and philosophical opposite of manspreading.
