My kdrama wishlist for 2018:
- A sports-style kdrama except it’s e-sports and he (or she) plays league or starcraft or something
- More dramas where the leading men have pets. Why is that not being milked?
- A sports-style kdrama where the leading man has a pet and it’s a horse and they compete. It’s a horse kdrama. I want a goddamn horse kdrama.
- Literally any LGBT drama, come on.
- Age of Youth 3. And then maybe 4.
- Some fantasy shit on the level that W was at.
- A kdrama with a politically active heroine, à la Bo Ra from Reply 1988
- On that note, a kdrama that follows a historical event with historically accurate character that’s is not a sageuk (or about the Korean Civil War)
- More ghost dramas. I will always watch more ghost dramas.
- A drama where Kim So Hyun dates someone her own age
- One (1) space drama. None of this ‘alien living on earth for hundreds of years and falling in love with an actress’ shit— an actual space drama where they’re on a ship or a station or a planet in space and they fall in love in space and there’s drama in space and they’re in fucking space.
- A drama with Han Hyun Min. I will take literally anything.
- Another gumiho drama, except this time she’s an actual modern gumiho who seduces Bad Men (cheaters, abusers, rapists, etc.) and then kills them. Maybe she’s trying to gather 1000 souls to become human and she’s trying to do so in an ethical way. Maybe there’s a cutie cop chasing her who’s actually a very good guy and she starts to think maybe men aren’t all bad. Maybe she plays cupid for him and one of the girls she saved. Maybe she literally eats the livers of men. Who cares. Run Devil Run and Maneater are in the OST. Shin Min Ah can be in it again that’s fine.
- Season 2 of Hwarang where all the boys time travel to the future and it’s actually nothing like Hwarang at all and Junho and Yoo Seung Ho and Seo In Guk are there too and nobody is allowed to wear shirts for 16 episodes
