if anyone wants to see when they signed up for tumblr, visit the above post. it displays your registration timestamp when you view the post itself, but when you reblog it, it’ll copy that timestamp.

that blog is a little bit of chaotic tumblr magic i built for april fools a long time ago.

Tom and Jerry: Willy Wonka

So, I watched the Tom and Jerry Willy Wonka movie last night, which was one of the most bizarre movies I’ve ever seen.  Fortunately, I documented the mental breakdown I experienced while watching it in real time, so here that is:

I dunno if there's already a term for this trope, so Ima just call it sugarbaiting when a story lures you in with a cute, sugar-coated first impression, until it reveals itself as psychological horror. Like OMORI, for example, or Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

I think that the growing popularity of sugarbaiting in the past few years is because it's so quintessential of our generation, by which I mean anyone millennial-or-younger.

Not one person I know my age or younger is exempt from mental illness, and sugarbaiting as a genre has by-and-large been a relatable example of dressing up turbulent interiors with rosy exteriors. In a way, sugarbaiting perfectly represents that dichotomy.

Actually this has to be its own post, I hate how people treat the moral of the ugly duckling tale like it’s “don’t worry you’ll grow up to be beautiful”

no!!! It was never an ugly duckling because it was never a duck!!! It was a baby swan!!! A cygnet!!! It was never ugly to begin with!!! People only thought it was ugly because they were judging it by their own standards!!!! The moral is that you aren’t ugly, people just don’t see you as you are!!!!

Alright was no one going to tell me that in the middle of the Nevada desert is an old cemetery that contains the bodies of a bunch of miners who died in a fire and next door is a haunted clown motel

Why are we still setting horror movies in generic Victorian houses in the woods when this is a real place in the world

we are all very lonely and desperate for friendship i dont think you will really embarrass yourself by unabashedly seeking it out. i think you will find many other people are also looking for it. people will gravitate towards you if you just let them. its going to be fine
