This information is coming from the recently released Star Allies demo’ filesystem. The demo included all the code files, text files and some other things, which pretty much ends up revealing everything that there is to know. DO NOT CLICK “READ MORE” UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET EVERYTHING SPOILED.

Post has been updated with new information. Just a reminder... DO NOT CLICK “READ MORE” UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET EVERYTHING SPOILED. DO NOT VIEW IT AT ALL.

By the way, I’d like to take a quick second and say that I’m not dead. I’ve been actively working on projects and such...I just haven’t been posting them here. I’ve started to move over to Twitter, instead, which is where most of my activity has gone. If you’d like to keep up with the things I’m doing, you can check it out here: https://twitter.com/reserved_kirby

Eventually, I’m probably going to stop using Tumblr altogether. Not now, but likely soon. I love the Kirby community here. There’s fantastic artwork, really great comics, and even some nice projects going on like Nezzy’s Kirby RPG. The problem is that I can’t stand Tumblr itself (the website). There’s tons of ridiculous things in place that heavily restrict a lot of the content I’d like to post, the biggest offender being the stupid GIF limit.

Tumblr’s commenting system is also pretty bad, being tied heavily to unconventional methods like Asks and special tagging. Due to that, most of the time it feels like I’m some sort of car salesman who’s sole purpose is to gain more followers. The reason I’m making and sharing content is from a passion for the Kirby series, to showcase the work I’ve done with it, and to be able to communicate and interact to people who have similar interests, not increase some arbitrary number..Tumblr, as a platform, does not allow or support that.

also the entire website is blue which is really depressing and weird

Do you have Battle Royale yet?

I’ve had it since the day it dropped in EU. Battle Royale is a billion times better in the US than it is in EU ‘cause the online servers are actually populated and active. RIP everyone who lives in AUS and will literally never get a match, lol.

With all due respect, how do you not like Ultra?

It’s kinda hard to explain w/o being vague or writing a ridiculous amount of stuff, so hopefully people don’t take this the wrong way, but I don’t think Ultra did a good job at being a remake of KSS. There’s a lot of core things that were altered; various general/move physics, difficulty level, ability attacks (damage, moves, etc.) along with a whole lot of wasted potential that makes me have little appreciation for the game.

While Nightmare in Dreamland completely revamped Adventure’s physics and mechanics in positive and healthy ways, Ultra decided to change things that were perfectly fine, while completely avoiding problematic issues the original game has like the set jump height. There’s also a couple really unfortunate choices made during it’s development; for example, new abilities were going to be added into the game...they cut them out because they wanted to keep the original feel of KSS (which they didn’t). It’s not all bad, though -- Ultra did do some things nice, like allowing abilities to be dropped properly and adding some new modes.

it’s not that I think Ultra is a bad game or anything, I just think it failed at it’s goal and ended up making Super Star worse. ofc, I just have a lot of really controversial Kirby opinions. I think NiDL is better than Adventure, KSS is better than KSSU and Planet Robobot is the most overrated game in the series, lol.

could you rip dedede's voice clips from the modern kirby games? i don't think anyone else has. i really like kumazaki's version of dedede's voice!

Avatar

contains voice clips from TD and PR. also has some overlap with KFD and DDD. RtDL Dedede clips are already up on one of those sfx sites, and Battle Royale doesn’t have any new ones aside from filters, I think.

Have you ever tried modding Ultra? It would be fun to see Meta Knight in the Arenas.

nop. I don't like Ultra, honestly, so I have no plans to do anything with it.however, I'm pretty sure it's already possible to use Meta Knight in the Arena by using the Helper to Hero mode? haven't looked into it but I've def heard about it.

Hello! Do you have access to the Voice Clips? I can't seem to find any HQ versions on youtube and I do not want to use smash bros sound clips. Thanks In advance.

Merry Halt–er… Christmas!

This is a cute little render I made of Haltmann celebrating Christmas. In the picture, he’s admiring the snowman that he just finished creating, themed after the CEO himself. You can see his design influences in the clothes he gave it! Along with that, we see his Christmas tree, topped off with a Susie-themed angel that illuminates the room. There’s even one of his most valued possessions underneath the tree! While it isn’t hugely expressed in the image, Haltmann is also wearing his designer-stitched Ugly Christmas Sweater! There’s even a little something hidden within the sky… Can you find it?

This render certainly took a lot of work! Stitching together his entire office, positioning everything properly within a pose, adding in the various props, fixing the shaders, creating the lighting, dealing with fancy model issues like bones, scales and such… it was hectic! Funnily enough, originally, none of this was being done for Christmas. In actuality, it was going to be a Haltmann version of the infamous “Masturbating Spiderman” meme. For those who don’t want to Google those… interesting terms, it’s the picture where Spiderman is crouching behind a desk with a picture of himself crouching behind the same desk sitting above him. However, over time, I decided to rework the project to be a bit more involved with the seasons, and it turned into this.

I’d like to give special thanks to my friend Mark for helping with concepts, Rosie for helping with the custom textures (Haltmann’s Christmas Sweater, Snowman’s Haltmann Sweater) and /u/michaelcuz for fixing what was previously an atrocious-looking desk. Without any of these people, this would not have been possible!

As a bonus, I included an alternate version of the picture. Can you spot the difference?

Sadly, I didn’t really have time to do anything this year.  Instead I’ll just pretend I’m working at HAL and rehash my content.

I'd also like to know the official hp of bosses :o do you think you could also give the damages of kirby's attacks for each game? (I know that's a lot though so if you could just give an example for each I could probably test things out and discover the rest on my own)

Kirby’s damage varies a bit between the games. It’s pretty much useless information unless you’re looking at Super Star, modern game True Arenas or Battle Royale, though.

While they’re slightly inaccurate, Super Star and Return to Dream Land both have mostly complete damage guides by utilizing Computer Virus and Metal General. Robobot also has a partially-finished damage guide from Security Force, I think.

If you want to see how useless the information is, here’s the data for Nightmare in Dream Land. Pretty much everything dies in one hit.

I’ve been collecting Battle Royale’s damage, too, but it’s been a slow process as I haven’t really had the time.

Is it really true that all those enemy names from Kirby's Return to Dream Land were found in a datamine? Though the Ninja enemy, Tsukikage's English name is apparently Moonja, according to a trophy in Smash Bros. Too bad they never wrote a western guide for this game.

I’m not really sure. I haven’t looked over any wiki pages or anything, I don’t really care about it. The romanization of Japanese enemy names are used for the model files, so they’re pretty much all accurate. However, some names are changed when localized.

Some of the internal names are pretty dumb, though. The doctor enemy in Robobot is literally just named “Doctor”, for example.

I'm sorry to bug you and I don't know if you have a policy on requests or anything, but I've been doing some research on Attack Damage and HP in Kirby games (for health bar reasons and such -- game design's a hobby) and I was wondering if you knew those respective categories for the Team Kirby Clash Bosses (the best I've been able to find is an unsourced attribution of 62,000 HP to the True Final Boss on WiKirby).

I’ll get you all the boss data in a bit, need to recollect and reformat all of it ‘cause my current notes have a ton of edits in them. Should have it finished soon; I’ll tag you.
