Pokemon Biology and Behavior

@pokemon-breeder-breeze / pokemon-breeder-breeze.tumblr.com

Hello! My name is Breeze, and I'm a Pokemon Breeder. I make a living out of raising, breeding, and helping pokemon of all sorts. I've learned a lot through my work and am hoping to share my findings, so feel free to ask about any pokemon you see fit. Except legendaries. I don't really get to interact with those often.

I want to draw my fake eeveelutions again. Some have mentally changed a lot but odds are y'all won't know which are changed and which aren't.

Anyway I want to get them going so

Important to note that 1: I do, in fact, have designs for all of the types missing and 2: all will be drawn regardless, this will just tell me what order to draw them in.

Please reblog if you vote!

I am only having this go for a day and would like the maximum votes possible in that time!

Ok so I’ve got a slight problem I’m hoping you can help with. I’ve got a male Chatot named Seiji, who is generally a very cheerful Pokémon. Loves being around others, loves doing things that people he cares about do (or doing his own thing near them), it’s all normally good. But recently, I decided to introduce Seiji to one of my best friends (also he/him), who happens to be incredibly passionate about astrology (apparently, he’s a total Simipour, not that I know anything about astrology beyond what I remember him saying).

Seiji was unbelievably happy to listen to him go on and on about the different signs and whatnot, but before long, Seiji became very sad. Why? Because Seiji has no sign, apparently. See, Seiji was caught from the wild, not bred by a breeder. No clue when he was born, and he doesn’t remember in enough detail to help (he remembers there being ‘lots of green’ around when he was a chick, which can encompass several possible months). Now he’s moping about, barely singing, starting to pluck out his own feathers, and is in general incredibly desponded. I’m at a loss — this is the first time he’s had such an intense reaction to not being able to participate exactly how he might like, and I’ve tried the usual things to cheer him up (his favourite treats, spending time doing his favourite things with him, etc.) but nothing. Please help? Maybe you know something about Chatot reproductive seasons or something else that might help? Or, would you know why he’s reacting so strongly to this thing in particular?

Chatot are more social and much smarter than people realize. They can get similar interests as people and can get stressed if they can't participate in activities related to them, which is where the feather plucking is coming from. Unfortunately the only way to truly fix this is to try and narrow it down a bit and get a most likely to be accurate sign figured out.

Chatot tend to live in areas with open spaces as well as many trees. There's also usually a large body of water nearby. But they also are usually found in the wild in a few different regions, so it can be a challenge, especially since the common mating times is different in eaxh region.

Did you catch him? Because if so that can help. They don't usually leave their birthplace much and definitely don't leave their birth region without human intervention.

Come back to me with where he was caught and I'll be able to help further!

Happy birthday! Seeing as you want a birthday ask…

How about this? Trainer has a team with several Pokémon who will evolve into predator species: Shinx (future Luxray), Gible (future Garchomp), and Glameow (future Purugly). (Trainer is well aware all three want to evolve eventually, that’s no question). So far, they’re co-existing at meal times, but Trainer is concerned there might be problems in the future due to the whole ‘potential for competing wild niches making meals harder’ thing. Is this something the Trainer should be concerned about? If so, is there anything that could be done to minimize the odds of potential blowout fights over food in the future?

((Thank you for the b-day wishes!))

Oh, I can definitely understand the concern! But here's the neat thing, friend: as long as you feed them properly at the same time they'll see no reason to fight for food.

The way pokemon act in the wild isn't always exactly the same out of the wild. While its true that these pokemon (especially the Purugly and the Luxray) will often get into territorial disputes and fight for resources, that's because resources only really exist for one family or the other most times. When in the care of a really proper trainer, they'll have no need for those fights! Just make sure they're all being given what they need, possibly a bit more, and everything should go well.

Another thing that could help is making sure to maximize the time they spend together out of battles. As they learn more about each other's quirks, they'll be less likely to fight over small things.

I wish you major luck, friend! A lot of Sinnoh locals can tell you all three of those can be a rewarding challenge sometimes!

Do they have Pokémon that most people would not know of/understand? (As in; would not know of the Pokémon, not them having it). If so, what one(s), and why?

Not yet I don't! I'm hoping to get the guy I just shared the image of soon, though. And that would definitely be fun to explain to others! Especially here in Sinnoh, the one area where I know I’ll get replies like “how the hell?” Instead of “oh, weird!”

Sorry it took so long to get another update. Between how elusive the pokemon had been and typical winter weather here in sinnoh keeping me busy it took a while to go through all the images the cameras I set up took but!!! I was right!

(image description: a somewhat blurry and fuzzy image of a hisuian zorua stepping out of plants into snow. A layer of snowfall further covers the image)

I know it's not super easy to see but that is, without a doubt, a hisuian zorua! An ancient pokemon long believed to be extinct is staying in my ranch!

I hope to maybe befriend or even catch the little guy, but that’s with do time. Wish me luck!

Pokemon Ask Game.

1️⃣What was their first Pokémon?

❔How did they obtain their first Pokémon? Was it a gift? Did they catch it themself? Did it willingly come along with them?

🔴What was the first Pokémon they caught themself, from a battle/encounter?

🕰On their team for battling, which Pokémon have they had the longest? If they have multiple teams, answer for each team.

🟠If they have a specialty/preference, what is it?

🥚Do they have a Pokémon obtained from breeding, that they bred?

💙Are any of their Pokémon unlikely friends? (would be expected to not get along, but they're friends regardless). If so, which ones, and why is it unexpected?

🟡Were any of their Pokémon obtained at an Evolution Stage beyond "Unevolved"? If so, which one(s)?

🟢Are any of their Pokémon currently not at the end of their evolution line? If so, why?

🔵Do they have Pokémon that most people would not know of/understand? (As in; would not know of the Pokémon, not them having it). If so, what one(s), and why?

I've decided I want to do this again.

Like last time I'll allow anything but have preference for things I’m actually into. Bonus points if it’s like… a more obscure or rarely drawn source/character. (not required tho!) Those who know my likes beyond what’s been reblogged encouraged. (I also may or may not send myself an anon request if things don’t fill quickly) will pin most recent edits/additions until filled out!

Edit: send the requests in my inbox and nowhere else, please.

Request away friends, family, and followers :>

Current requests:

None

(increasing reach)

Ok so I'm emptying the inbox for all my blogs because I have an annoying ghost message in one and the only way I know of that gets rid of those is to empty all inboxes.

If you see this message it means anything you may have sent to the blog it's reblogged to is now gone and you may need to resend it. It also means the inbox will be completely empty so you can also send new things.

Thank you for reading!

Ask request time

Inspired by a random post I saw on a subreddit (image will be below) I would like some Pokemon this or that questions. However, not just any random, basic ones.

I want things kinda like this one! Ones that actually force me to think and choose! They can be simple (which do you think would be a better pet, a or b?) or complex, there can be more than one "this or that" in one question, you can even omit having pokemon in your question(s) and I’ll use a random generator!

Just give me ideas because this is a weirdly fun thinking game for me I just love it! Fill out my inbox!

(send to the OP blog preferably, but Breeze is also open to these if you want!)

I think I saw what's been causing all the problems in my ranch but...

I don't think any of you will believe me. I barely believe I saw what I saw.

I've officially ordered cameras for my partners as well as myself so that we can get photo evidence but…

Wow. Holy shit. Uxie be true because if this is real it means not only is a long believed extinct Pokemon not extinct, but one is living in my ranch!

Hey guys. You know how I said I think a ghost type's trying to live in my ranch? Well, I'm a bit confused on it now as my ranch is having a haze over it.

Maybe a dark type? Or something that can sumkon fog?

I'll update you all if I get more info

@owl-lady-lover I appreciate the concern, friend, but I've been among both types of Weezing and it's definitely not Weezing smog.

I'll try to have my Talonflame clear it out just in case before sending Thwacky to investigate.

Delibird facts/PSA

While they're very generous and kind, you should never take more than one or two berries from wild Delibird during late fall and most of winter. This is because it’s during this time they’ll be taking care of their young, who are not yet capable of flying.

A Delibird first starts learning to fly in late winter at the soonest, so they rely on the food their parents get for them. But the generosity of a Delibird means they’ll give as many berries as they feel is needed and gets taken by those they come across. So if you end up interacting with a wild Delibird this season think about their young!

For this same reason you shouldn’t catch Delibird at this time of the year unless it’s the only way to save them.

Another personal update

I have been having a lot of things seemingly just... disappear and get rearranged. I think I have a ghost-type pokemon trying to sneakily live in my ranch, but I don't know how it's gone as long as it has unfound with how many pokemon I have here on a regular basis.

I'll update you if I find out what it is.

Azurill fact

Along with the nutrients needed to grow and evolve, an azurill’s tail secretes water-repellent oils. That, mixed with it being just as buoyant as it’s evolutions, helps it in being safe in the calm waters they live by.
