Frequently asked questions (part2)
How does the Full-page/sub-page thing work?
We are using full/sub-page format for this zine in order to cover the large number of titles related to FF franchise without making the zine too large and expensive. Full-page art will be expected to be “print-level” quality with some sort of background, even if it’s simple (we just don’t want floating figures in white). Sub-page art doesn’t have to be as detailed as full-page and therefore is a smaller time commitment. 1-3 pieces of sub-page artwork by various artists will be displayed on a single page in the zine.
Does the artwork have to be exclusive to the zine?
We ask that the artwork be drawn with the intent to be in the zine, i.e. not previously made. However, all art, whether full/sub-page, or for pre-order extras, will not be restricted to the zine. We will ask that the artworks not be made public online before the pre-orders are shipped, but prints of the artwork can be sold at events such as conventions at anytime. Key chain and sticker etc. sales will be asked to hold off until the pre-orders are shipped.
All Full-page artists will get a free copy of the zine + its extras, including shipping (although if the artist wants to chip in which the shipping that would be really appreciated!). In addition, all artists will have the option to purchase the books at printing price (but not the extras). It may be possible to provide Sub-page artists a free copy as well, but this will be dependent on the success of the pre-orders to ensure we will have funding for it.
When is the deadline for art?
The current deadline for Artworks is June 1st, but this is tentative. The deadline may be pushed back to after that, but it will not be before this date.
About when will the zine be finished?
We are scheduling to have the zine pre-orders open sometime in July and have them ready to ship out to customers in September. The project will be done by December at the latest, when the date of the 30th anniversary rolls around.
I think I messed up on the application! Can I edit it?
There is no option to edit an application after it has been submitted, but you can resubmit an application using the same name and contact info (unless that’s what was wrong!). In the comment section, please tell us that your application is a re-submission, so we don’t jury you twice!
