Hello everyone! For the past few months, me and a group of amazing WoW artists have been working together on a wonderful project which has just now gone live - the first edition of the Azeroth Fashion Zine, a work of love and tribute to the world of Warcraft and fashion!!

The zine was organized by the wonderful @bearicorn , it contains 30 pages created by 12 wonderful artists including me, and it is currently available on ko-fi on a pay what you want basis - the proceeds go to the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund! Please consider contributing if you're able, and share this around so more people can see it!! :D

shit ton of people are repeating the thing about hayao miyazaki saying AI art is an "insult to life itself" and just as a reminder he was talking about the zombies that team made that were intended to be scary in how much they shook, but instead reminded him of his disabled friend. the insult to life itself was referring to the team trying to make scary real symptoms that people live with.

it was a quote about ableism. if he has said other things about AI type stuff, that is a different thing. but that specific quote was about ableism.

this is the full quote.

Little more than 400 years ago, in the 1500s, in what is now Germany there was a guy named Phillipis Aurelius Theophrastus Bombastus Von Honenhiem. But he was a big asshole, so his classmates at university called him "Cacaophrastus" which literally means shit-talker.

He hated how medicine worked. See, even up until 1600, medicine hasn't changed much since the ancient world. The most up-to-date medical textbook, the core of physicians teachings in the 1600s, was a book by Galen. Galen was from ancient greece. People had invented guns, but they hadn't really improved on how Galen thought medicine worked.

Theophrastus, who called himself Paracelsus, was a bit of a rebel. He saw alchemists doing all this fantastic stuff with manufacturing new types of dyes and cosmetics and metal alloys, and he thought, why not use all that stuff for medicine? So he got to using cutting edge knowledge for the purpose of healing the sick. Which he did.

Do you know what the pre-paracelcian prescription for a musket wound was? A poultice made of cow shit and feathers. Paracelsus said to keep the wound clean, and let the body do it's thing. This saved uncounted lives.

He performed experiments, giving the same substance, in the same dose, to different people, and even testing on animals with different phyiologies, and observing how the same amount of the same substance can affect bodies didferently. He wrote "The dose makes the poison" thus inventing the occidental science to toxicology. Every time you go to the doctor, and don't get poisoned, you have this 1500s wizard to thank.

And he was a wizard. Medical knowledge at that time involved the construction of astrological talismans, made of magically imbued metals which counteracted the astral forces thought to cause illnesses. Along with inventing the foundations of modern medicine, he also engaged in the construction of magical amulets and potions, the theories of which all informed his work. Work which formed the foundations of modern medicine.

It's important to know that ideas don't just manifest out of thin air. Everything you do and think is built on vast ziggurats of human ingenuity and failure, and shaped by the history entombed within. I've just decided to learn about my favorite few bricks.

i know this sounds typical, but i’m gonna need you to bear with me. i have some bad news.

illidan is an edgelord.

i know we all knew this, but illidan is no ordinary edgelord. he’s a rapmetal edgelord. he’s stuck-in-the-year-2003 edgelord. he SCREAMS at counterstrike, listens to korn and slipknot and limp bizkit, and shares hplyrikz 3deep5u memes on his facebook. he has all the signs of being a flat-earther without the conspiracies. he has never formally taken martial arts but he’s absorbed enough piecemeal tactics from various sources to successfully and impressively amble his way through a fight. luckily, he doesn’t get into fights often.

that being said, illidan is loyal as shit because he has BEEN through shit. he knows how it feels and is sometimes so accommodating to the downtrodden that he ends up being taken advantage of. but he shrugs it off and is pretty resilient, patching holes in his walls and sticking with paper plates for a while. he is incredibly soft-hearted, and of course he loves tyrande, even now, even still. and it’s because he’s rooting for her all the time. she is so wildly successful and he is so proud of her because he knows she got herself there. and his vindictiveness toward his brother is partially because he thinks he’s standing in her way. his ~druidic sabbatical~ or what have you was the best thing to happen to tyrande. illidan was off doing his own shit (serving time for possession of cannabis with intent to sell lmao whoops!), and that was almost a blessing in disguise because now neither stormrage brother would get in her way to the top. and look at her now! a self-made woman in charge of her own outdoor athletics organization (which employs other women to help them make themselves too). god, is there nothing this woman can’t do?

illidan takes a drag of his e-cig and looks out the window. yeah, e-cig. vapes are for teens but the e-cig is β€œhealthier” than regular cigarettes. he scrolls through facebook and sees black times new roman on a white background that reads β€œStop setting yourself on fire for someone who stays to watch you burn.” he hits β€œshare”.

What's this? A totally real secret artifact weapon for World of Warcraft: Legion! 100% canon compliant and not the product of a madman's brain! :)

Xavi'driszar, the Eyes of Xavius, are enchanted jewels created during the War of the Ancients, allegedly by Xavius himself. They're rather small and may not look very threatening by themselves, but they are said to imbue their wearer with the power of the Nightmare Lord, and over time corrupt and transform them into a satyr.

They were kept under guard jn secret for thousands of years, until Legion when a druid stole them, intending on using them against the Legion. This druid is now their guardian, much to the chargrim of everyone involved πŸ’…

you there. the person who claims to be a hater for fun. are you actually having fun or are you recurrently making yourself miserable looking at things you dont like

you there. are you exercising the healthy practice of forming your own opinions about the world or are you being swept up in a negative 'everything sucks' spiral without any time to digest the information you consume

this post was brought to you by me being medicated - guy who formerly did all of these things
