I adopted this hexiquilt project from my dear friend. She put a lot of work in it already but I have still some miles to stitch. I love every little bit of it.

It’s okay to not be the same all the time. Change is beautiful
Hey fiber artists of Tumblr! I would like to ask for your advice.
My glove is starting to unravel. I think it froze on some metal and ripped. I have a very vague idea of how to darn. I think this glove was made with lace weight yarn. All the yarn I have is dk weight or larger.
Can I use a thicker yarn to darn it? Would it be better to use embroidery floss? Should I just sew a patch on?
It's a pretty large hole, personally I would put in a life line somewhere below the damage and pull it all out, then reknit the thumb. Preferably same weight yarn if you can manage it
@giantextinctgroundsloth any other advice?
I am super amateurish and relatively new to mending things, so given the yarn/tool constraints I’d probably do something half-mad, like pick up the dropped stitches/runs as much as possible, split a ply off the DK yarn, and use that try to weave the hole closed. (It would probably not be very sturdy!) But one thing I can do is reblog to see if people with more experience might want to chime in. So!
Look up Swiss darning or simply watch this video I found on YouTube it explains the technique. There are other ways as well, I like this one a lot though.
So this is me. These days I like to hike and cook on top of a hill. I sew my own clothes and if you spend time with me I will make you tea that suits your needs. I express love with food and tea.
So come along if you feel like it. And if we know each other already from tumblr, hello again! I might be back here. Let’s see how it goes.
Would you like a cuppa tea with that?!?
I love my 1895 Skirt and West so so much, I want to wear it every day!

Just thinking about people making year-end summaries of their accomplishments and also about reasons to keep yourself alive through the next year. Sorry, it’s a bit of a sappy comic.
