something that kills me to think about is the difference between villanelle's reaction to eve stabbing her and eve having her arrested. how she viewed eve physically harming, almost killing her, as a confession of love but having her arrested broke all trust & almost caused the definite fall-out between them.
because violence had been the only way vill knew at that point. and stabbing her showed her that eve has a dark side to her, that they're more alike than she previously thought, that they speak the same language & understand each other in ways other people cannot even fathom. and in a way it was proof for her that eve wasn't like anna. (because earlier that day anna pointed a gun at her and vill told anna "you can't do it" and she was right. but when she told eve "you can't", eve confidently said "yes i can" and she could.)
after all, vill became interested in eve because she (her hair specifically) looked like anna. however she fell in love with eve because she wasn't like anna.
but when eve had her locked up? that reminded her too much of anna in the bad ways. it triggered all the repressed trauma and fears (and the abandonment issues that were definitely caused by tatiana) from her time in the russian prison. in her mind, that was eve starting to act like anna and she didn’t want to go through that same heartache again so she convinced herself she wanted eve gone...
