Not so much an ask rather than saying i loved your Cinders ToG story. it's surprisingly difficult to find tog fics that aren't AU. i would be a very pleased pigeon if you ever decided to continue it.

ngl i haven't been able to write a word of anything in last two years because of college and it's unlikely I'll pick it up ever again but thank you! maybe someone could reblog this with recs if they have any.

I'm not, sorry. It's been years now since I last read these stories, or worked on them, and my taste and writing style and everything has changed, so I feel too discontinued to pick up from where I left.

Post Queen of Nothing headcanon for when Jude and Cardan get into fights.

  • Jude and Cardan are married
  • And they love each other so much, of course
  • But you're crazy if you think they don't bicker like two lovable idiots all the time
  • The whole Council is fed up of it
  • Their King and Queen get at each other's throats for stuff way too often
  • No one else knows what to say to them
  • They just avert their eyes
  • And find somewhere else to be for a while
  • Jude is stubborn, set in her ways and convinced that violence is the answer
  • Cardan leans more towards diplomatic solutions
  • Their shouts are loud enough to wake the dead buried six feet under
  • The language they use—
  • It's not pretty
  • But the minute someone talks shit about Jude in front of Cardan
  • Or even sides with him during the fight, Cardan loses it
  • Because how dare they insult his queen
  • No one ever comes between them
  • Our lovely Jude is the first one to cool off, despite what you might think
  • She gets angry way too fast
  • But she realises she misses Cardan as quick
  • She's miserable
  • But she's proud
  • There's no way she'll say sorry
  • Jude gets grumpier than usual
  • Locks herself in their private chambers
  • And drowns herself in paperwork
  • Sometimes she practices throwing daggers at some poor dummy who she imagines to be Cardan
  • If she's feeling particularly evil, she keeps away from their chambers instead
  • and makes it a point to let Cardan know she'll be occupied
  • she struts around wearing sheer dresses in front of the whole crowd
  • Cardan, on the other hand
  • He drowns his sorrows in a bottles of alcohol—
  • Bottles, actually
  • And he makes the stupidest of decisions
  • Gets real drunk real quick
  • because Jude constitutes 99% of his self control
  • When it comes to Jude, Cardan never cares for his pride tho
  • So once he is sober
  • He is the first one to approach
  • Always
  • He's still scared of Jude all the time because Holy shit, have you seen that woman with weapons?
  • but Jude loves him so she wouldn't kill him
  • He likes to believe she won't
  • If she isn't in their chambers, he grows panicked
  • what if she is with someone else?
  • But he usually finds her lounging in the throne room
  • sitting on his throne instead of hers
  • he acts casual and all
  • but his tail wiggles wildly
  • repeatedly reaching for Jude
  • Jude smiles a little
  • The High King of Elfhame would keel over dead before he apologizes to anyone
  • So he doesn't say it outright
  • But he shows it through smallest of things
  • Like he picks out dresses for her to wear
  • Arranges her stuff
  • Leaves roses beside her bed
  • Or better, showers her with roses when she gets out of the bath with his magic
  • If Jude still doesn't cave, he follows her around all day
  • At this point, Jude is only pretending to be mad because she loves it when Cardan tries to get her to forgive him
  • Cardan suspects
  • He follows his wife like a lost puppy anyway
  • doesn't care who sees him
  • doesn't care where Jude is going and what she's doing
  • "Cardan! I am going to pee. Are you going to follow me there?"
  • he smiles innocently
  • "Nothing I haven't seen before"
  • Jude glares
  • So finally, after a day or two of being pursued by her husband, Jude gives in
  • She says it's because he annoyed her to the point that she had to
  • but Cardan knows
  • They usually have sex after that
  • And they both promise to themself that they'll never ever fight again because it makes them both miserable
  • They still do it again
  • Every
  • Fucking
  • Time
