Fanfiction Master Post

Okay so, I'm going to try and make a Master Post for my Fanfics.

Currently a work in progress, might add a "Read More" later on:

A Girl and Her Bike

Probably my post popular fanfiction ever, A Girl and Her Bike is a series of RWBY/Transformers crossover fics wherein Bumblebee the Autobot from Transformers is ALSO Bumblebee the motorcycle from RWBY. He and Yang serve as the main protagonists, with the focus being on their PLATONIC/sibling-like bond. (He's a two million year old war veteran, she's a teenaged lesbian. Get your heads out of the gutter.) It also has, by far, the largest expanded universe of any of my fanfic series. Current fics in the series are:

  1. A Girl and Her Bike: Volume 1: On her 17th birthday, Yang Xiao Long got a motorcycle to celebrate going another year without getting killed by Grimm. However, what was meant to be a simple gift ended up bringing a war to the Rose/Xiao Long's doorstep. Now, between the Grimm, Atlesian Military, White Fang, and Decepticons, Yang and Bumblebee have their work cut out for them. (Complete) AO3 | FFN
  2. A Girl and Her Bike: Spotlight Collection 1: What did Bumblebee, Ruby Rose, Winter Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long do after the Battle of Vytal? How will they adapt to the life-changing circumstances they've been thrust into. Read on to find out. (4/5 Spotlight Oneshots Complete, still working on Yang's) AO3 | FFN

Current spin-offs in the series:

  1. Like Judas Thereupon Kissed: Prequel, set on Cybertron. "The war between the Autobots and Decepticons is one of the longest, bloodiest conflicts in the galaxy's history. So why is it that it started just after the two sides united against a common foe?" (In-Progress) AO3 | FFN
  2. Myths of Cybertron: Anthology of in-universe works of fiction, compiled by certified nerd Glyph of the Cybertronian Historical Preservation Society. (4 myths compiled) AO3 | FFN
  3. A Girl and Her Bike: Super Deformed CHIBI: In a world full of darker and edgier Transformers and RWBY fics, sometimes all you need are blatantly noncanon antics and hijinks to lighten your mood. Basically, a comedy-focused spin-off of "A Girl and Her Bike". (No planned ending) AO3 | FFN
  4. A Girl and Her Bike: Jazz's Report: In-universe reports Jazz writes for Professor Goodwitch and Optimus Prime, providing further context for the setting. AO3 | FFN

Through the Shattered Glass

AO3 Series | Shares Spacebattles Thread with A Girl and Her Bike

Mirror Universe of "A Girl and Her Bike", wherein the heroes are villains and the villains are heroes. Installments are as follows:

  1. Shattered Fragments: If we glance through the shattered glass, what distorted reflections would we see? In a universe opposite the world of A Girl and Her Bike, an alien war collides with an ancient conspiracy, shaking up countless lives throughout the world of Remnant. Their stories shall be collected here. (In Progress) AO3 | FFN

Dust and Decepticons

My other RWBY/Transformers crossover.

This one asks a very simple question: What would happen to Remnant if Atlas formed a secret alliance with the Decepticons prior to the events of the series? Fics in the series are as Follows:

  1. Falling Stars: When aliens fell to Remnant in balls of flame, responsibility fell on General James Ironwood of the Atlesian Military to make first contact with these strange new beings. Who knows, perhaps these Decepticons could be the key to a new golden age? Surely keeping the existence of these strange new beings a secret couldn't possibly backfire! (In-Progress) AO3 | FFN
  2. Epiphets of Megatron: Before he held two seats on Cybertron's High Council, Megatron was just another Cybertronian. However, over the course of his military career, in the defense of Cybertron, he has been called many things. Here is the story of how he earned those titles. (1/7 Chapters) AO3 | FFN

Miscellaneous

This is where I'll put any fics that aren't part of another series.

Y'know, when I feel up to it.

Check back here regularly for eventual updates.

The toadstools grew in a perfect ring the width of a child’s hula hoop.

They were upside down and clinging to the ceiling like stalactites.

“I have concerns,” she said.

“So do I,” they said. “If I step under it, does it count as stepping into a fairy circle? I mean, if a plane flies over a fairy circle it doesn’t count as stepping into it, but do the same rules apply if you’re walking under a fairy circle?”

“Right.”

“Actually, what is the area of effect for a fairy circle? Is it like a sphere that has the same circumference of the circle, so if I just duck underneath it I’ll be fine? Or is it a cylinder? How far up does the cylinder go? Or down, in this case.”

“Right.”

“Some of the many mysteries of the fey we may wonder about forever.”

They continued to stare up at the ring of toadstools. Thoughtful seconds ticked by.

“See, my concerns are mostly about how much moisture you have in your room.”

“Sorry?”

“You have mushrooms growing out of your ceiling.”

“Oh.”

She patted their back with sympathetic pity. “I appreciate that you live in a world of whimsy and delight, and I don’t want to squash that because I love you, but I also really don’t want you to die of black mold.”

“She’s right, you know,” said the goblin sitting upside down in the circle.

I have been waiting all of my life for a .gif set of this scene. This struck me so hard when I was younger.

Seriously. I didn’t quite understand as a kid because I too thought she was still so beautiful.

It’s so sad how cruel and shallow this world can be, and the horrible psychological damage they can inflict on people who had so much confidence and still possess potential for greatness.

Yet another example of how amazing this show was.

What makes this even more powerful is that Paige Monroe (Calendar Girl) is voiced by Sela Ward, a real-life model and actress who was infamously turned out of the Hollywood system for being ‘too old’.  In 1995, even though she was a three years younger than Pierce Brosnan (then-Bond), she was turned down for a role in James Bond because "What we really want is Sela, but Sela ten years ago”.  In response she made a documentary, The Changing Face of Beauty, about American obsession with youth and its effect on women.  Then this episode came afterwards.

This wasn’t just a general message episode, this was a specific attack on the sexist Hollywod system by somebody who had been one of its victims.

"But Hamas is using the civilians as human shields!" They've been doing that for nearly 20 years now. The solution is to plan around that, not just shrug and plow right through because it's easier to fire a missile and write it off as a "tragic accident" than it is to give a damn about the people trapped in the crossfire.

as a POC I can’t overstate how much I appreciate this, the third one especially who has this look that has lost so much hope, you can see her eyes swell in real time post transformation and it just goes to show that looking good makes us feel good

it warms my heart to see so many reblog this from me, yet unless you’re Black? (with little exceptions) I don’t think you all really get it, so let me really paint the story here.

the thing about Black hair is that it is varied, like incredibly so. some of us luck out and get what we dub “Good Hair”, hair that is normally not as tightly curled and manageable with a little to midrange amount of effort. But many MANY of us have natural hair that is tough and thick, the curls are small, sometimes very tightly wound, it makes brushing and combing damn near impossible on top of other hair care methods. short as well as braided hair isn’t always desired but for many of us we have no choice, it’s just easier to maintain it that way, it is a sentence, not a style.

keep in mind that hairstyle is a statement, especially when you’re Black, your hair says so much about you in this community in particular. we also have the fact that our standard is held against White standards of beauty, and that is a whole different conversation involving privilege, systemic racism, and internalized hatred—like bitch, this has LAYERS!

take the age into account here for all these women, but in this case I’m specifically talking about the third. now, these are all educated assumptions, but you know where those tears are from? she’s had to live with this hair her whole life! and you just KNOW she’s tried everything!—heat, curling, straightening, perms, softeners/relaxers, HUNDREDS of products that make hundreds of promises, and many of these risk taking out the natural oil and proteins in hair which is a death sentence for Black hair. she had given up hope that anything good could ever be done I’ll bet. that transformation did more than style her hair, it gave her years upon years of hope; Listen to Black folk when they tell you, it’s more than just hair.

this man is doing more than hair, he’s changing lives…I just hope he knows that.

there are two kinds of 'living under a rock' i think. ignoring petty social media and celebrity drama, not caring about beauty and fashion trends...admirable. that shit doesn't matter. being wilfully ignorant of important problems happening in the world, especially ones you have the power to change... selfish and cruel.

By existing as a citizen in and paying taxes to the imperial core, we automatically hold complicity in imperialist oppression because we are literally footing the bill for it. That is just the basic nature of being born to privilege in systems of oppression in general. We can be disadvantaged and marginalized in every single other consideration and we still have to understand and cope with this, and ensure we leverage it as effectively as possible.

Voting abstinence/sabotage does not absolve us of our responsibility to do everything in our power to lessen harm, but it DOES show that when our personal morals aren't satisfied, we retreat into (imperialist, this time) privilege to 'wash our hands' of the situation and declare it's not our fault and it's not our problem.

  1. If you were not asked whether or not you wanted to commit a genocide, then you are not complicit in it. Both presidential candidates are beholden to forces we did not elect because capitalism. So. Stop blaming yourself for THAT one. If both your choices are include genocide, that's not something you got a vote about.
  2. HOWEVER: if you do not take action to prevent the further destruction of democracy within your own country by kleptocrats like Trump, you fucking are complicit in THAT, because you actually do have a choice between a candidate who cares whether poor people starve to death, people with uteruses have a choice about when and how to use them or not to, trans people and queer people have rights, and all the rest of it.

Consider this: how much fucking help can you be to people who are facing problems all over the planet outside of the United States if you are unable to feed yourself and they make your gender illegal?

Consider also this: Trump's feelings about Palestine are worse.

Consider also this: If the Palestinians knew you had this choice that they don't have and are choosing not to use it, do you think they would thank you?

"Will also probably commit genocide". Not probably. His stated response to the pro-Palestine protests taking place are to deport the protesters and "set the movement back 25 to 30 years", he wants to ban all Gazans from traveling to the US, has openly opposed Palestinian statehood, he shut off a UN agency for giving refugees food, and when asked what he would do (besides claiming that 10/7 would have never happened if he was President, as he usually does) he said he would "finish the problem".

Let's drop all assumptions that Gaza might survive a Trump presidency. Palestine barely survived a Trump presidency. Trump's supporters want to see the whole region flattened and any pressure to limit civilian casualties will disappear the moment he steps into that office.

to be honest its crazy to me people even entertain “kids shouldn’t be in public spaces” as like a legitimate point. like great thank you for your input anyway this is real life and we live in a society and people have children. your perspective is warped and misanthropic but most of all its just like laughably out of touch and unrealistic. you might as well be arguing that rain should be made of grape juice instead of water.

Actually, you know what would happen if kids were to be banned from public spaces altogether?

They'd all grow up into dysfunctional, immature adults who don't know how to behave, interact with each other, or regulate their emotions.

They'd inherit the Earth, and you'd be stuck with an entire generation that (rightfully) hates you for keeping them sequestered for their formative years.

You think a toddler having a screaming fit in the supermarket is annoying?

Imagine a hundred or so grown adults who never learned how to behave in public all doing the exact same thing, because none of them have ever been allowed in public before today and now they've been thrown in the deep end without any practice.

Just a thought for anyone who UNIRONICALLY pushes the "children shouldn't be allowed in public" idea.

when I was a kid playing lego star wars with my brother and we got to the end when you're playing as anakin and obi wan on mustafar I thought you were supposed to be fighting and killing each other the whole way. you weren't, it's a normal co-op level, and there were no unique pvp mechanics or anything. you lose a bunch of your studs when you die, just like normal, but I thought that was intentionally symbolic of how much anakin's hubris and lust for power was only hurting himself or something, so we kept killing each other and the level took so fucking long to get through because of it
