help a welsh lady and her grandparents not die through winter!
hi everyone! it’s finally happened. autumn is here, it’s raining like crazy in wales, and my family is in a terrible place financially.
i hate asking, especially since the likes of the dick slinging slime man projared have popularized the term ‘e-begging’ for people who are like genuinely in need of cash, but i am desperate! i live with my grandparents, who only have their pension, and it really isn’t much. i’m unemployed and still searching for work, and truly i don’t get enough money to even begin to put things towards house repairs.
realistically, we need a little bit of everything. the roof is threatening to leak, the windows already DO leak, we have taps that need fixing and have done for years. the front door doesn’t lock properly and is also leaking. everything is leaking. this whole house is one big leak.
another very serious issue is that our boiler, the only really affordable source of heat in the house, broke last winter. we couldn’t afford to get it fixed, so we used space heaters a lot more, which proved to be much more expensive. it’s now almost october, and we still can’t afford to get it fixed. i don’t know how we’re going to be able to afford any of this, and it’s very stressful!
basically, we have a lot of things that need fixing, and in a very short amount of time. we’ll be okay for a little bit, but when the cold does hit, it’s going to hit hard. i’m very scared of what might happen if we don’t start fixing things, and the money just isn’t able to stretch beyond basic month to month needs.
tl;dr, winter is close, the whole house needs fixing and me and my grandparents can’t afford any of it yikes!
