“One day I’m going to kill your dad,” the sea witch says. “One day,” she repeats, and turns around towards her giant, smoking cauldron. She takes one of the strange-looking potions from her nearby shelf and inspects the glass before shrugging and tossing it in. “Alright!” she then shouts, looking absolutely delighted. “So, to give you some grade-A human legs, I’m going to… er. Need something of yours.”
Shouto blinks. “What?”
“Equivalent exchange, really. My magic isn’t for free, unfortunately.” She gives a sheepish smile. “So… like a sense? Walking, seeing, talking—your choice.”
He pauses. “My voice.” When the sea witch only stares at him with a startled, wide-eyed look, he turns his gaze away. “Don’t need it. Words aren’t everything.”
