How does Parc Fermé work this weekend?

Parc fermé, literally meaning "closed park" in French, is a secure area at a motor racing circuit where the cars are kept at some times during a race meeting.

When a car is in parc fermé or is under parc fermé conditions there is very limited things that can be changed on the car.

On a typical weekend parc fermé conditions begin when the car leaves the pitlane at the start of qualifying.

A change for this year, specifically for the sprint weekends means that there is two separate parc fermés.

The first parc fermé period runs from the start of sprint qualifying (Friday PM) until the sprint race (Saturday AM)

The second parc fermé period runs from race qualifying (Saturday PM) until the Grand Prix (Sunday)

This means that teams could theoretically change their set up after the sprint race if they realise that they have gone the wrong way with set up.
