I have thoughts

Paladins can be of any species. They make a pact with a lesser angel or demon that gives them powers beyond their species' normal capabilities. Paladins also are gifted with monstrous forms. These forms are inhuman and often an affront to the eyes, though some of them can be seen as beautiful. Some follow Rowan due to the fact he is more powerful than all of them combined while others follow him out of admiration rather than fear. It doesn’t matter either way to Rowan as all he cares about is reuniting with Adonis.

The bond between Adonis and Arlo is beautiful.

They both have gone through hell yet they are so different from each other.

Adonis initially hated Arlo but the idiot fumbled his way into Adonis' heart.

Now Adonis has this twink with a license to kill following him around.

Arlo is like Puck in a comedic sense but he can say intellectual things every now and then. Arlo prefers to find the inherent good in those he meets rather than dismiss them for what he initially sees, he also has a good amount of patience with people like Adonis. Arlo can be quite stubborn at times and he is very serious when the time calls for it. 

"You shouldn't be up this late. Especially after being up all night last night and the night before that.... and the night before that..." Alro said as he held a blanket out for Adonis.

"I'll be fine," Adonis grunted as stared into the dark woods, "Gotta make sure nothing finds us."

"I can do that. I'm good at spotting things in the dark. I'm a hunter after all!" Arlo chuckled, hoping that he might get some kind of positive reaction from the mercenary.

"Hmph, fine." Adonis took the blanket from Arlo but didn't budge.

"Aren't you going to join the others?"

"No."

"Well I guess you'll keep me company then." Arlo plopped down beside Adonis and leaned against the stone with him. "You know, as much as I like the forest canopy, I like the open sky better. What about you.... Adonis?"

Arlo glanced over at his companion only to smile as he saw the normally tense man relaxed with the blanket wrapped tightly around him.

"Sleep well buddy."

Rowan and Adonis are on the aroace spectrum. They both never really understood the concept of love or sexual attraction until bonding with each other.

Adonis never understood why the other mercenaries liked sleeping around or even bothered to get married. He'd never slept with anyone up until he fell in love with Rowan. After that he'd only ever had sex with one other partner when he was forced into it by a very pushy woman.

Rowan knew he'd have to get married eventually and had no say in the matter, but he had no interest in it. He'd never been interested in love or sex because he'd never felt love or sexual attraction. That was until he met Adonis. Getting to know someone who didn't worship the very ground he walked on was nice and after a while he realized he was feeling the symptoms of love.
