Forgotten Foes - The Aurmadil

Inspired by the constructed beasts of war used by other monarchs, Queen Hafnir made beasts of labor. The Aurmadil proved very useful, producing a peculiar gold. Even long after the kingdom fell, Queen Hafnir’s creations persist, unaware that their master is gone.

This is part of the long-running Forgotten Foes series which features creatures considered to be mere myth, if they’re remembered at all. If you like this monster, consider paying my Patreon a visit for many more interesting creatures like it!

The Aurmadil got a new update including a new piece of filler art and general quality of life improvements!

A comic I made based off of the Unbound D&D campaign I play as Alison Crowe in. For context, the party all died and were chased around by a spooky ass ghost who turned out to be Alison’s unborn dead twin sister, Alicia. Alicia then challenged Alison to a fight, with the winner claiming the right to return back to the world of the living. Rest of the comic is below.

So in the Overthere (Limbo, where souls that can’t let go end up), you can keep re-dying multiple times.  The more you die, the more of your essence that you lose.  Not to mention, you just sorta lose essence passively.

You can also gain essence, often by “killing” other things.

Either way, you can go from being a revenant, to being a reaver.  Being a soul that wants to mind its own business, to being something predatory.

I wanted to draw a monster, so I drew Gwen as a reaver.  This might even happen in-game, but we’ll just have to see what is on the table.

If Gwen were to become a reaver, she would become more beast than person, rather than just being in-touch with her inner animal.

The context of these series of comics that that in the game run by @tuz-ohtopia we are currently trying to free a city state that has been taken over by terrorists. However the terrorists had inside help with the local government. Evelyn was the leader of these renegade mages and I enjoyed greatly the parallels between her and my own State Mage characters. Alison took her betrayal very personally.
