it’s the sense of obligation that brings claire back to the island she once lived on, to the park that she once controlled, under the supervision of Simon Masrani. It’s the sense of wanting to protect the dinosaurs that brings her back. the volcano was her reason, Blue was Owens’. It hurt that he wasn’t coming back with her because it was her and not because of Blue.

Claire lived in Wisconsin now, quite a difference from the tropical heat of the island. But it was nice. Claire can’t help but glance over at Owen, sitting up taller. This was her organization doing this. No one else's.

“I’m going to need you to listen to me, Owen.” she says softly, quickly glancing away from him. It was enough that he came. Both of them had survived last time, what’s to say they couldn’t survive this time?

“No hero moves, okay?” claire wasn’t sure she could handle losing him, even if they’d been broken up for a year. a small part of her, a very tiny part that refused to fade, still loved him.

  • it takes claire a long time to allow owen to see kelsey for extended periods of time.
  • claire, lucy, and kelsey all move in with owen after a few years. claire is that stubborn.
  • claire doesn't want to admit that she loves owen grady.

“Dr. Sattler.” the greeting is cordial at least. it’s all claire thinks she can manage, considering claire’s current state. still shaken up by the attack that nearly killed her. that nearly killed owen and her nephews. her sister wouldn’t let her see them for a long time, of that claire was certain. claire wants to bite back the remark that follows but it’s to fast for her.

“Come here to gloat about my failure?” that sounded harsh, even to her. “because I’m the one they’re going to question. Parks Operation Manager. That tends to make you the scapegoat in these situations.” Claire was seen as the hero, but also the scapegoat. It was a peculiar mixture. she feels like she’s on the verge of tears.
