i'm genuinely ashamed of what my knee jerk reaction was to this question. i'm EMBARRASSED by how i wanted to answer this

the roundest baby you've ever seen in your entire life. chubby cheeks. pouty lips. and you can't even be mad that they look just like him, even after all the agony you went through to do your part in the process, because that baby is so cute that every time you go out in public ppl stop you to tell you how adorable they are. to tell you how lucky you are to have such a beautiful baby—and you already know that, but appreciate the compliments anyway.

and then you get home after a long day, and tobio meets you at the door like he can't even wait for you to take your shoes off before he sees you. he'd gotten home just a few minutes ahead of you, rushing out of practice in a way that pre-baby—pre-you—tobio could never have imagined, just to get an extra few minutes of the day to spend with his little family. and he lifts that chubby baby up out of the pram, and they both look over at you (with the same eyes, and the same nose, and the same impossibly sweet expression on their faces) and you realize that not only are you NOT mad that they look just like him, but you're grateful for it.
