Hey guys! i’ve made Dan and Phil shimejis!

if you aren’t familiar with them, a Shimeji is basically a desktop buddy that roams your screen. They sit randomly, walk and crawl about your monitor, and sometimes double themselves with or without your permission. Sometimes if you minimize a window, your Shimeji may try to take it away. They are basically useless but extremely cute! and i want to share them with you!

i’ve made two versions both for Mac and Windows. Download links below!

Also i’ve made a little tutorial ( here ) for anyone who who’s confused to how to open/operate them

ENJOY!!

Cataclysm smells like hot metal, burning.

No akuma victim remembers this, after Ladybug cleanses the city. Chat doubts even Ladybug notices, after all this time. And after so many years of fighting together, it would’ve passed through Chat’s mind without a second thought if the smell hadn’t always lingered in his nose, sharp and distant and otherworldly.

It saturates his suit after too. He can feel it, the gleam of black leather giving way to something colder, darker, as if his power leaked across his skin.

His ring beeps. Five minutes before the transformation becomes too much to maintain.

Too much for Plagg? Chat wonders. Or too much for me?

His claws ache, longing to puncture holes into something unfathomable, leaving shining pinpricks of light in their wake. Heat collects in knots within the nursery of his chest, a home for something nebulous. As pressure builds while the minutes count down, Chat can feel his lungs expanding, his skin cracking.

The burning didn’t happen, in the beginning. He was still new, still whole, still unused to wrapping himself with Plagg’s power. But to be young was to be malleable, and slowly, but surely, his body became a home for someone other than himself.

Five minutes, and Chat fights to stay human.

“Here, kitty,” a voice whispers, warm and reassuring. A hand comes up to cradle his cheek, skin upon skin.

A shudder rips through his body and he leans heavily against her. Ladybug, but not. Ladybug, but more.

“Two minutes,” Marinette murmurs, and she runs her fingers along his disintegrating mask, her arms tucked up against the cold suit sloughing off his chest. The cracks remain on his skin, dark and deadly, a promise of a different kind of destruction.

She is warm though, with eyelashes tickling his nose and her sweater that she stole from his closet bunching up around her wrists. Her hair, windswept from fighting just a few minutes before, tangles up in his hands as he wraps his arms around her and holds on.

It is the only part of her that’s cool to touch, but it soothes the burning in his chest and the ache in his claws. As he combs his fingers through her hair, light falls through the strands like shooting stars, winking in and out from sight. There is nothing sharp or distant about her; she is too real, too present, too alive in his arms to be anything other than an anchor in an ocean of dark matter that looms in the horizon of his mind.

“Don’t you dare,” Marinette whispers fiercely as cracks continue to run across his shoulders, down his chest like bolts of lightning. “Don’t you dare go anywhere where I can’t follow.”

Maybe she could, to wherever he’d end up going or becoming; Chat doesn’t know how it feels, to be filled with Tikki’s power, but he imagines she and Plagg were born from the same place, where the dark is infinite and the light sings in celestial multitudes.

“Trying,” he whispers, his forehead leaning against hers. The dark presses down on him, deep and unfathomable, even as heat blooms in his chest.

She doesn’t hold him together; even with her arms wrapped around him like a vice, there is little she can actually do. But she gives him a reason to stay, to try, and that is more than enough.

“Don’t try; do.” Her voice cuts into the cold dragging him down like light, knifing. “Twenty seconds.”

Chat digs his claws into her arms and breathes until the scent of Marinette’s shampoo fills his lungs instead of that unrelenting heat. He breathes until his skin flushes pink from warmth, not cracked from the cold dark.

He breathes, and lets go.

“There,” Marinette says, satisfied.

When Adrien opens his eyes, Plagg collapses on the top of his head, exhausted. The weight is gone, the cold vanished, the heat scattered, and he feels strangely small. No longer so vast or otherworldly, no longer so sharp or distant.

“Welcome back,” Marinette breathes, before she leans in and closes the last few inches between them for a kiss.

He feels human within his own skin again. Triumph and relief has him hugging Marinette close, has him concentrating on his own heartbeat to remember the pulse of it, has him peppering kisses all across Marinette’s face as his fingers tangle with the falling stars of her hair.

Chat fights the event horizon of his destruction, and wins.
