I was inspired after watching Moana and was going on a cruise to Mexico with my group of girlfriends and decided to shoot it on location there!
I made the top by sewing a tube top for the top. Creating a stencil pattern to outline the design on the top and using fabric paint to paint it out. I sewed lace trim on the top for the diagonal design. For the skirt, I sewed the same type of fabric on top and created a long skirt with scrunch at the top. Then the part that folded over the top, I stenciled out the design that I was hand cutting out with small razors(since I don’t have a laser cutter). I very meticulously frayed the bottoms as I cut out the designs as well.
Because it was right after the release of the Moana movie, Everywhere I went at the convention, people were singing the theme song and felt like I was actually in a Disney movie haha. Even when I walked by the Ocarina booth, they would play the theme song too! There were other Moana’s at this con and we all complimented each other. Children were so excited to see me and take pictures with me. People of all different genders and ages were excited to see my costume and take pictures with me.
Cosplaying as a plus size Latina, people come to me and tell me they never felt like they could’ve cosplayed because of their body type, or color until they’ve seen how happy I am in my own skin and costumes. That really helps make a difference knowing my love of cosplay can really help influence others to cosplay and celebrate themselves no matter what color or body type!

So last weekend I had the photoshoot of my dreams with the best group in the world. I have been dreaming of a shoot like this for over two years, and it finally came to fruition, thanks to all these amazing people 😭
Stand Still Stay Silent @sssscomic is my favorite webcomic, and I got in my head that a group of my best friends would make the PERFECT cast for a Cosplay group, in both looks and personalities! So everybody read the comic and… It happened for real 😭❤️ I’m so, so happy!! . This shoot happened up in the mountains be Breckenridge where there’s lots of beautiful scenery, thanks to our photographer Ottoshotgun who also let us crash his place! And this. Shoots are NEVER easy. the only way they EVER EVERRRRRR Get done is by the hard work done by the assistants as well. Photography is... I say it once I’ll say it a million times.... a group effort. a director directs the movie. but all other departments put it together. you can have a Poopy director and the movie, despite FANTASTIC actors is just poop... AWESOME director and Poopy actors... still come out as a wonderful movie. from the model, to the photographer to the assistants. we always need you. when you lose reciprocity... you lose your photo (harhar old school photographer joke) to any and everyone who helped me at shoots this year, last year and beyond. Thank you. Without you it would not have been possible.
2017 October and November’s Year end. and that’s a wrap. We shall see what 2018 brings. if I win that Lotto you’ll be seeing a lot more from me! Until then, welp keep on dreamers keep on.
September 2017 end of year favorites. Got some awesome ones from this shoot, just didn’t get everyone in and for that I am a failure. When its cold, and I get overly focused sometimes you need to take a big brick to my head or have a timer to remind me to take pictures of others. Also helps when other cosplayers make sure that everyone else has a go as well. My bad. still very pleased with what I did get.
June/ July 2017 end of year favorites. I love my work so its hard to choose just one from a shoot, so I try to pick a few that show off some of the skills I am trying to keep improving on (Least....money thing+computer) eh. life. Enjoy!

end of year Febuary, skip to June and September. my lightroom dislikes me and apparently cant keep my shoots in order. it’s old senial and dieing so please keep with me while I do my best to keep things somewhat in order. regardless. these are some of my favorite shots.
End of the Year. January and February. My computer’s Mother board is dieing and because I live literally paycheck to paycheck I do not have the funds to keep putting money or time into my photography. it’s been 25 years. Some dreams die faster, some never do. this one dies because I cannot financially justify or stabilize it. Photography with digital requires a computer. without a computer I cannot get people photos. so while I can. I will post the photos I love most from this year. Best part is.... I know no one will notice, nor care. A photographer is a dime a dozen these days. despite 25 years of experience I have learned I am quite replaceable by your very own cell phone. this is NOT A cry for pity regardless of how it sounds. this is a welp, so long. the one one who is hurt and cares is me. but I’ve learned how insignificant I an this year. I have also learned that I make zero impact upon this life. so despite any hopes or dreams I have upon this world is simply silly and childs play. best of luck and I hope to see many lovely pictures this next year from everyone! you all are stars and I love watching you shine from my darkness. thank you for your time you spent.
Ah! Promise not dead! yet got to do a shoot I’ve been really really really wanting to do for a long time, I can’t wait to work with Bad Emu Cosplay again! Maybe grab a few more of those shots I wanted to snag but the shadows of the mountains laughed and said “HA!... no” Eowyn made and worn by Bad Emu Cosplay Gotta check these out in full view because THAT LEATHER AND METAL WORK! A short tutorial on how to apply a beard for any cosplay. I use it for France and Scotland for example. It’s easy and cheap as well ^^ So here some details: 1. Apply eyeshadow as a base for the beard. Make sure the colour fits the hair and is not too vibrant. 2. Apply glue to the area. Make sure to only use glue that is safe for your skin. I used eyelash glue. 3. Apply the hair in the direction of the hair growth. I use leftovers from my wigs, but you can also get some online. For curly beards felt works just fine 4. Cut the hair down with some scissors and make sure not to cut yourself ♡
This beard can only be worn once but it will last all day with a strong glue. The method is quite messy though so don’t wear your full cosplay while applying it. And it might scratch a bit (but it’s totally worth it)
Ok.... this will be itchy but the eye lash glue is a great alternative to spirit gum! But where wig hair will get you the EXSACT Color you’re looking for, IT ITCHES FOR OMG UNGODLY LONG TIME I have in the past used trimmings of my own hair. (dont ew me, if I was a boy it WOULD STILL BE MY OWN HAIR.... and its important to have super clean clippings or the glue might not stick) granted the beards I’ve had were small and of natural colors so it wasn’t a big deal. I found my hair was far more comfortable to wear for long periods of time and almost easier to clean up. you can use crepe wool too for fuller fluffier beards as well. I really liked this tutorial, person did a great job... and eyelash glue..... thats brilliance.

“I’ve never put trust in other people, least of all myself”-Gojyo long time no post. Things have been rough. I decided after all the bullshit I’d treat myself to a shoot. Photographer: me model: me. Cosplay mostly tweeked items, cut out the shell and padding of the jacket, added the collar. Dyed the Arda wig because in Silky they STILL don't have the right shade of red I liked. Made my weapon, set up my lighting and put it on self timer. welcome to my version of a selfie!
