fffgghfsfhjfh honestly I am dying over the curves and lines and his eyes, the poses, the sincere & silly yet solemn personality, dude I like never see art of him that LOOKS like him to me, but geez, this DOES and I’m just– I’m legit just incoherently happy over this.‘Happy’ doesn’t quite capture the full emotion but it’s close. It’s significantly true.
Ah just thank you for this, I know it might sound odd coming from a random lass but this means a lot to me, to see this lovely art of this beloved blue guy, at this rough time in my life. God bless you and do keep drawing!

Nah that was right, they were called Splorch and Spiorch after the splorches from Mario 3D World
Yeah they used to both have glasses and were much different characters from my @askboompom
After they moved to @lava-bros they eventually changed their name to Sol and Simon, because I really didn't like naming them after the species, especially after Spiorch showed up. Originally it was just going to be Splorch, so obviously it made sense to just give him the name of the species or else he was basically unrecognizable, but then Spiorch became a character, and then after that Scotty became a character too. Felt weird, to have one guy be named their species when there was at least 2 others. Same happened with Boom and Pom, still regret that as their names, but otherwise again, not as recognizable as the characters from the series. Made sense for the time. Anyways so they were basically OCs from the start, now they're just a new brand of OC that isn't so associated with Super Mario. So ditched the glasses, and that was basically the only thing linking them to being a lava ball with sunglasses and ✨wow ✨, they're their own people now.
Look at that glow up, I'm so proud of them. Boom and Pom became OCs too, they go by Barrett and Piper now. So you might see them floating around under those tags. Crazy what happens to characters you draw for a long time and get attached to. They basically rebrand themselves overtime as your own. It's a neat process to see.
This is the lava fam, Simon, Sol, and Scotty They’re powered by magical geodes Simon and Sol are twins, and they do not get along at all Scotty is the youngest and she loves her brothers very much The twins are disasters, and Scotty is the only good one to come out of the bunch. She makes up for their terrible behavior, but they all know Sol is a good noodle even if he doesn’t act like it. Simon definitely isn’t a good noodle, he wakes up every morning and chooses violence.
