the melty bird zine preorders don't show anything except the wooden pins, but i think i need to see more to decide whether or not to preorder? love the concept and the artists involved, but like i need to know what the cover design and page layout looks like and what the paper quality is like and some samples of the art and stuff
Hello anon! thanks for your interest :)
Here’s a preview with 5 of the pieces that will be in the zine!
It’s a 6x6 inch zine. The cover mockup is close to what will be used for printing
The pages are 80lb text with a glossy finish and the cover is 100lb cover stock with a UV Coating.
Here are images from the Melty Cat Zine [that is available for regular purchase] with the same paper stocks and same printer.
The page layout for Melty Bird will be similar with the art filling the entire page [with some 2-page spreads] and the artist name and theme on a corner

Melty Zine’s second zine in the series will be melty birds ⋋(◍｀◇´◍)⋌
Melty Bird Zine is a 30 page collaborative illustrated zine. The zine will feature themed “melty” birds, and artists from all over the world can participate. The initial run will be nonprofit, with profits up to $500 donated to a bird rescue or related charity of the artists’ choice (we will have a poll with 3 charities for selected artists to choose from). The organizers will stop MeltyZine etsy sales of the zine to the public after a goal of $500 profit has been reached or after July 9. Participating artists can purchase copies of the zine at production cost after the charity goal has been met or after July 9 (whichever comes first) until January 9, 2019, and are allowed to resell these copies for profit. Artists who submitted art for the pre-order bundle extras will be allowed to sell their add-on item after the charity goal has been reached. The zine organizers will not order the add-on item for the individual artists. There will be a suggested retail price for the zine to ensure consistency in the price. Melty Bird Zine will be a JURIED zine.
