Hi, I read the beginning of your fanfiction stranger than fiction. Even within the first few chapters, I could tell you really care about writing. There's a point in chapter 4 where they're talking about ambiguous endings and that just stuck with me because usually when I read, though I enjoy the happier endings more the ambiguous endings that aren't the happiest sometimes are the ones that resonate with me the most. What I'm saying is its shaping up to be really good. Please keep updating.

I do intend to continue to update Stranger Than Fiction, things are just very hectic in my personal and professional life right now and I haven’t been able to dedicate the time and creative energy to it that I need to. I am about to take my first and only vacation of 2018 and am hoping it will help to re-energize me and maybe I’ll even get some writing done. YOI Spooky Week is a Yuri!!! on Ice Fan Event where writers and artists can come together to create work centered around specific prompts during the week of Halloween, All Saints Day, and All Souls Day. The week will be from October 28th to November 3rd.

Hi! Hope you are doing well. I just reread Love in Exile (again) as its one of my fave fics. There is so much detail put into everything - the character development, the scenes, the historical context - which draws me into the story. I feel the same way about Stranger than Fiction, with all the literary references. So I’m curious as to what inspires you to write?
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m so glad that you are enjoying my writing so much. And I apologize that it’s been so scarce in the past few months. But there will be an update to STF VERY SOON! 2018 has just been kind of chaotic thus far.
So what inspires me to write? Hmmm... I think a lot of things inspire me, actually. I’ve always had an (overly) active imagination and even as a pretty young child I was making up stories and had a whole collection of imaginary characters that accompanied me in my exploits. So, I guess storytelling or at least the making up of stories has always been like second nature to me.
History (in case you couldn’t tell) is probably one of the things that I am most inspired by and that interests me the most. History is ialmost like a fantasy world. It’s so removed from modern reality, but you can make it real and tangible through good world-building. But with history that world-building comes from research. It’s fascinating for me to be able to bring that world to life, and through writing about it I feel like I get to experience it for myself.
I also just love interesting concepts and often find inspiration in the most unexpected and mundane things. For instance with STF it was a photograph a friend showed me of a guy asleep on a train she was on. The whole beginning of STF came from that one image shared with me by chance. I will often see something or hear something or watch something that will plant a seed in my brain and my thoughts will just keep coming back to that seed and I’ve just gotta do something with it!
I also just love to write stories I find interesting in a way that is maybe a little bit different and even non-linear. One of the most satisfying things about writing LIE was the back and forth between past and present and feeling those moments when something that happened in one setting just clicked to inform what happened in the other. And similarly with STF being able to tie in pieces of Yuuri and Victors’ novels to their own personal story in a thematic kind of way has been really fun and interesting, and it inspires me as a writer to be able to present a story in a slightly different way or with an added element like that.
I hope that answered your question a little! In the end I guess the answer is just pretty much anything and everything. XD It just has to tweak my brain in the right way.

So some of you may be wondering what the hell I’ve been doing for the past couple months, since there has been no peep from me and no update to STF.
Well what I’ve been doing is moving and busting out deadlines at work. The beginning of the year is always really busy for me at work and on top of that I decided not to renew my lease at the place I’d been living for the past 3 years, and so had to start hunting for a new place in January.
As many of you probably know moving is literally the worst thing ever. But happily it is all over now and I am moved and settling into my new place, which is huge and amazing (and I secretly think might be haunted, but oh well).
And even MORE happily, there IS (finally) a new chapter of STF that is ready for beta! And on top of that my posting date for the Big Bang!!! On Ice is rapidly approaching!
So very soon you will have not 1, but 2 new works from me to fill the void I have left you with for 3 months!
