Hey everyone! It’s been awhile since we last update here!
The next update post we were going to make was on how we finally cracked the code on Len and the whole reason on how he was not working was the fact that he was always suppose to be close to his dad but Adele was always closer to his dad than him so we were scrapped Len AND Gale and made them into two entirely different characters, swapping their roles.
Having Roman, Brendan’s son, be Adele’s mentor figure who’s a bit older. Pokemon ranger who gets sent into the distortion world that everyone needs to go save. Adele is close with the Birch’s and since Roman is older it’s not that she was competing for Brendan’s attention and was more of an unofficial younger sibling.
Matchi, Wally’s nibling (genderfluid) he got custody of (intentionally Io parallels). Coordinator, Adele’s best friend. Fit the slot Len used to fit. And we worked everything out, we had to scrap Larentia entirely, change Ber’s trainer class, and so much other plot stuff but it doesn’t matter.
Because neither of us really care for having pokeani fankids.
For some this might seem it’s coming out of no where but honestly for me, I feel it’s been a long time coming. We haven’t really cared about the anime in years. I think you can tell because the only anime ships we have really only fit in gen 4 and before. Even then, the only anime ships we ever actually really liked we used on this were Ash & May and Dawn & Gary. Everything else was just checking off a checklist.
Like ‘oh we need a Misty Kid, let’s make Bridge’ ‘We need a Cilan kid, we’ll make Eclair’. It wasn’t actually because we cared about the ships those kids are attached to.
But we liked the kids we had and we liked making them so we didn’t really see the point in changing anything. I stand by that a lot of these kids mean so much to me. We’ve had them for over 7 years (they’ve been a thing longer than this blog has been) I wouldn’t trade them for the world.
As some of you know I recently (without Craig) made some game verse kids and it made me realize that I actually like having fankids for the sake of them being fankids. Which I know sounds self explanatory, that’s what it should be. I like thinking about them with their parents, how that effects them. How they act when they’re little all the good stuff. Their relationship with their parents is a key factor of part of the reason I like the game verse kids. I could take away the parental relationship with literally all of the kids on this blog and still feel the exact same amount them.
So that’s exactly what I pitched to Craig what we do. Take all of the kids we like/want to keep around, redesign them, and make them ocs. And it’s been great! We’ve only done Adele, Jean, Axel and Ike so far but honestly, it makes me feel so much more excited to work on this stuff than I have been in years.
We’re no longer restricted to the anime canon neither of us really care about, we can make as many or as little characters as we want. Characters don’t need to make “sense” to be in certain places in certain times because they’re ocs and we decide everything. It’s great.
As for this blog, I plan to keep it up for archive purposes but don’t plan on updating it. I am taking a few adult designs for my game verse if it works out but some will be lost in time (sadly Submas Hilbert Hilda does not work in my game verse which is the worst that is the worst thing about the blog going down in my opinion).
If anyone’s curious about the current version of the kids I’m likely only going to post them on my art twitter. We might change names for everyone we want to talk it (except Axel it still fits him) but if see me tweeting them under any name (with more to be added later but not on this account) they’re probably kids from here)

So this account hasn’t been super active since I (Lexie) started my job. Obviously the correct course of action is to make a new fankids blog.
I started making game verse kids a few months ago and finally bit the bullet and made a blog for them. Unlike this blog it’s run by just me opposed to this being run by Craig and I (or Craig and I share the kids and I run the blog bc that’s works best for us but Craig isn’t a co parent to these kids).
This blog isn’t going anywhere, sometimes it’s just nice to branch out with a different path. The anime verse kids have been around for years while the game verse kids are newer so they’re taking more time to develop

12, 28, 41 for Heru?
12. Is there some particular talent, skill, or attribute that they simply could not give up?
Pokemon athletes!! It feels like the easy way out but as one of our older kids it would be a lot easier to say he started doing something else at a certain point.
And he does! He ends up winning the PokeOlympics in Unova in his 6th year of traveling and enjoys it a lot. Afterwords he does take a year off in Galar deciding if he wants to do something else, shortly runs into Axel and leads him to the direction of Pokeathlons. But afterwords he decides he still misses it and was offered a position as a coach in Unova so he took that. He actually ends up becoming Chroma's coach which is funny because she's Axel's main rival and the person who got him into it ended up helping his competitor. (Also on the topic of Coaches Ethan becomes Axel's!)
For specific specialization Heru focuses in Speed Stamina and Power in Pokeathlons.
28. If your character became a celebrity, what would they be famous for?
Again it feels way to easy to be Pokeathlons but he does win once and that does gain a lot of attention
Heru also gains a lot of attention because he's Leons kid. Even though Leon isn't champion in our verse anymore (gets over taken by Gloria) he very much left an impression on the public so when Heru starts to go out on his own he is very much labeled as Leon's kid (especially since Kian doesn't go out and travel all the attention is on him for a bit).
41. Does your character’s family affect your character in any way?
Absolutely! The dogwoods are easily our biggest family so there's a lot to go into so I'll give tiny summaries of everything
He's close with both of his parents. Grows up in a very supportive household who wants what's best for him but won't push what they think what's best onto him. Even though his parents do end up splitting up (Sonia was in very large denial about liking guys/Leons for years) it wasn't until he and Kian were 19 so they didn't grow up in a divorced household.
Even with that he still very much loves both his parents and they're still on friendly terms. Even likes Nessa (his moms now girlfriend) because she was over all the time when he was growing up.
With Kian (twin brother) the two also have a healthy relationship. Heru knows Kian doesn't want to do athletic stuff with him so they typically bond over Kian's preference of farm work (which Heru also likes). Heru likes to see how much he can carry in place of the tractor so he'll often pick up a bunch of hay and book it across the field to see if he can beat it (he hasn't yet but he's gotten close)
Cilia (cousin one) and him have a very 'I will playfully make fun of you' relationship. Heru actually ends up seeing Cilia's confession to Litzy so he's the only one who knows about that for a while (because Cilia wasn't immediately ready to tell everyone). So there's a lot of "So I saw Cilia and Litzy-" "SHHHHHHHHHH" "-eating ice cream the other day" antics
Clover (cousin two) also have a very "I will playfully make fun of you" relationship but the roles are reversed. Clover is making fun of Heru. Which to be fair is very easy to do. Think typically harmless pranks like "oh I already poured you a bowel of cereal" but the contents of the bowl are frozen or "i will tie your shoe laces together" type of stuff
13, 25, 29 for Autumn?
13. What are your character’s sleeping habits? Heavy or light sleeper? Blanket stealer? One that always rolls onto the floor
First thing to note is Autumn will not sleep in a tent. She knowns how to plan to take routes that will give her housing. Like Charlotte doesn't want to know people exist by her but worse. Charlotte would just be annoyed Autumn would yell at you. Would absolutely rather pay for a hotel than sleep in a pokemon center given the option for the higher quality bed.
Speaking of bed, she'll take up the entire thing. She'll lie down all nice and proper and wake up spread like a starfish. Also will steal the blanket you have while she forces anyone who's sleeping with her on the floor
25. Is there something traumatic from your character’s past that greatly affects them even to this day?
Autumn's had a pretty average life. Yeah she's had her fair share of hardships but nothing remotely tramatic. Unless living with Harley counts then yeah, she lived with Harley for years
29. What is one of the most courageous things your character has ever done for a loved one?
Nothing partially big but she will do things that are outside her comfort zone for Eclair! Like okay, maybe she can sleep in a tent OCCASIONALLY. But it has to be a nice one. Or okay I guess we can take a detour and climb up a side of the cliff because you see some mushrooms, even though I broke a nail the last time we did it. Little stuff like that! It's good for Autumn she needs it
Charlotte 13, 28, and, 33?

Charlotte's very much a "do not disturb me while I am sleeping" type. Wakes up very easily, does not want the pressence of other people to be known to her. Which is very much to her disadvantage because one of her traveling companions insists on sleeping with all of her pokemon out and snores (Adele)
28. If your character became a celebrity, what would they be famous for?
Battling is the easy answer out! She out of all of our kids places the highest during her first league (she comes in 2nd or 4th iirc) and that definitely gains attention.
For more outside of the box answers we do joke about her and Elise becoming beauty bloggers who are constantly having on channel drama
33. If your character wanted to be alone, where would they go?
She actually does travel alone for a bit! When in Kalos she gets into a fight with the rest of her traveling companions (Adele, Len, Elise). Mainly due to the fact she labeled herself as the mature one so the rest of the group goes to her for that and she's sick of having to be the mature one. She travels for her own, gets a gym badge and returns back to Lumiose (Where the rest of her group also ended up being)
So not a specific space but just somewhere she can go out, adventure on her own. Keeps moving forward despite the want to be alone
