We’re all survivors We live for a better day Some of us drink through the sorrow Some of us cut by the pain But we’re all survivors And survivors we remain

ICYMI: Sunset Sons Releases the Stadium-Ready Indie Rock Anthem, “Love Lights”

Although the band came together by fate, it’s nothing close to chance that UK-based indie rock band Sunset Sons is on a roll with their latest single, “Love Lights,” released July 6 ahead of their upcoming EP The River, which is out on July 27 via LAB Records. The track was produced by UK Producer of The Year Catherine Marks, who has worked with artists like The Wombats, Local Natives, Wolf Alice and more. The song’s release follows two outstanding headlining shows in Manchester and London, which both sold out in under 24 hours.

The track has gathered over 140,000 streams on Spotify in just four days, boosting the band’s total streams to nearly 15 million. “Love Lights” explores the “ups and downs of relationships, honesty and how people can change their minds like the weather…it’s about how to keep moving forward, which is the general theme around the upcoming EP,” said Sunset Sons drummer Jed Laidlaw.

“Love Lights” explores sounds of electronic-infused rock, while maintaining the band’s indie rock roots with strong vocals that set them apart and allow them to create a unique spin on the rock genre without straying too far. If The 1975 and Kings of Leon created their own band, Sunset Sons would be the result.

The forthcoming EP is the band’s first release since their Top 30 album Very Rarely Say Die, produced by Jacquire King and James Lewis, who have also worked with Kings of Leon and Rudimental, respectively. Very Rarely Say Die was the fastest selling debut album upon release its release in 2016.

After band members met in a bar in Hossegor, France, they recorded their debut EP Le Surfing in just three days and named it in honor of the beach town in which they had first crossed paths. The album ended up making the Top 10 on iTunes in 2014 without any sort of promotional push.

Listen to “Love Lights” below and keep your eyes peeled for The River:
