Lonely (Loki Oneshot)
Here’s your food you gremlins, eat it. Take the fluff.
Concept: The Avengers are out on a mission and the only ones at the compound are the reader and Loki.

You wrung your hands above the sink to get some of the water off of them. For the past few hours you had been cleaning up around the compound. Everyone else had gone off on a mission that you weren’t required for, so you kept yourself busy with chores. Well… almost everyone had left.
The only other person who was in the compound with you was currently standing around the corner watching you, being your shadow. That person was the god of mischief himself, Loki. The entire time the others had been gone Loki had holed up in his room, you’d barely seen him, but now he was just standing there. It was kind of funny to you that he seemed to think you didn’t know he was there.
When you’d first noticed him watching you your first assumption had been that he was playing some kind of trick on you. It was like him to pull something like that. After a few moments however, you realized it wasn’t an illusion and he really was standing there. So you had decided to give him a few minutes. He would step out from behind the wall, then step back again. This happened over the course of maybe 10 minutes before you acknowledged him.
After reaching to grab a towel to wipe your hands dry, you glanced at Loki with a warm smile.
“Hey,” you greeted.
Loki stared at you for a second before mumbling a small “Hi” back.
You and Loki held eye contact for a few moments with no sound of movement. You felt like you were having a stare down with a cat.
“Are you alright?” You asked.
Shaking his head Loki began to scratch his palm with his nail. A tick you’d noticed he did when he was nervous. Thor had informed you that he’d picked it up from his mother. Your eyes watched his hand before snapping back up to his face.
“I apologize for bothering you, it is nothing.” Loki said before turning to leave the room.
You panicked for a second thinking that you had upset him. He rarely came out to talk to anyone and you had just caused him to scamper away. He really was like a cat. In your small moment of panic you called out to him,
