Conservatives have wanted to kill this for years but they’re going for the killing blow at precisely the most damaging time – which shouldn’t surprise anyone at this point. Be mad and be loud about this one, friends. Call your senators.

The mail piling up?

Those are bill payments.

Those are medication refills.

Those are time sensitive documents.

Those are paychecks.

Gutting the USPS doesn’t just mean skewing the election. It means millions of people will be without the things they desperately need for survival.

Disabled people who can’t access their grocery store will go without supplies

People who can’t afford to pay for private shipping/people who don’t live on profitable routes may lose shipping altogether

People who can’t afford private shipping and need government intervention the most will not be able to send mail-in ballots

It means court orders for parents who will end up missing their custody battle and lose their children

There is so much more than, “my package will be a week or two late”

Half? She got 36 billion in her divorce package… AND even she realises that is a stupid fuck ton amount of money for one person to have so she’s working her way through donating half of it. He on the other hand is a dragon hoarding over 189.8 billion

All he is doing with his money is collecting it for the sake of it at this point… at what point is acummalting obscene wealth pointless? When you have already surpassed being able to afford everything you could ever want and never be able to spend all of it? What are you collecting it for? At that point you just want you to have it so others can’t. He is gonna cry about getting taxed over money he can never in his lifetime spend all because he what? Wants to watch it building in his bank account? Doing nothing for no one? It isn’t even doing anything for HIM at this point

Relevant information

- This shit happened in February.

- It’s only just getting put to a the next Grand Jury because of the video surfacing.

- One of the guys is an ex-cop.

- Even the ex-cop’s version of events would put him in the wrong.

“Gregory McMichael told police he saw the same man "the other night” and that he stuck his hand down his pants on that occasion, leading McMichael to believe he was armed, according to a Glynn County Police report.

After seeing Arbery jogging, McMichael then alerted Travis, 34, according to the police report.

“Travis, the guy is running down the street, let’s go,” McMichael said, according to the report.

The two grabbed a shotgun and a pistol and followed Arbery in their truck, police said. Travis McMichael, the driver, followed Arbery and then attempted to cut him off, the report said. Arbery turned around and began running in the opposite direction, the police report said.

They chased Arbery to a nearby intersection, where they caught up to him, the report said.

“Stop, stop, we want to talk to you,” Gregory McMichael shouted at Arbery, according to the police report.

Travis McMichael then exited truck with the shotgun, the police report said. His father told officers Arbery “violently attacked” his son, the report said, and they struggled over the gun. Travis McMichael fired two shots, the report said, and Arbery fell.

July is disability awareness month but a lot of people tend to forget it :/ :/ :/

It’s all OK if you didn’t know, don’t feel bad about it, it’s a great occasion to listen to disabled people! We might not have pretty flags who will catch your attentions like during pride months, but we’re still here!

To clarify, now that I've looked it up, in the US at least July is specifically ADA Awareness Month. A great thing to do this month is look up laws surrounding pwd and our property.

Some examples:

  • Grabbing a mobility device (wheelchair, cane, walker, etc) without permission is assault.
  • Pushing someone's wheelchair without permission is kidnapping.
  • Service dog teams are not required to carry any paperwork or certificates with them.

It's also a good time to look at laws that need to be changed or better enforced:

  • People on disability income cannot get married without losing their benefits.
  • People on disability income cannot have more than $2000, including property value (my $300 mattress counts against it), which means they cannot save money if they don't know about ABLE accounts.
  • Airlines habitually break the law by mistreating passengers' wheelchairs.
  • Accessible construction is still considered an afterthought rather than a cornerstone of design. And no matter what construction companies say, it's only more expensive to be accessible if you're tearing up existing features to add ramps and such later, rather than doing it from the get-go.
  • Disabled people are routinely murdered by doctors who determine that they have no "quality of life" and are better off dead.

All these things disproportionately affect disabled people of color. Educate yourself, attend a virtual town hall meeting if you can, and bring these things up. Make things better.

It is my twenty-fifth birthday and I am inconsolably sad at the thought that pink and white strawberry cows will never exist, let alone be dog-sized and my best friend. I am seriously considering taking my emergency panic medication to disrupt these thoughts.
